Let me add to the list of questions:

1. Why is my TV out only Black and white? Am I doing something wrong? If so, what?

2. What are the ideal settings for this card? I am not understanding all of the extras on this card.

yo, I'm with you guys. I think tv out sucks with tis card.

1)resolution will only go up to 800x600. Why?

2)like stated above, it doesn't fit the whole screen.

How do we improve the quality of tv out on this card? Or are all cards with tv out this bad?

UncleWai:

1) Idunno the answer to that one...but i thought the drivers come with it...
2) you need to download something called TvTool

Lauzy:

1) 800x600 is the max resolution
2) TvTool

yeah my 800* 600 doesn't fit my screen width ways enough, so i have to use 640*400 :(. But it looks descent. I use TV tool.

thanks, after using tvtool, i can get my tv-out to a more reasonable shape.
i stoppedt the flickering and have full screen.

But about the twinview, my monitor screen is unbarably crappy. Is there anyway to fix that?

14fritz, the TV out is black and white because you are sending an S-Video signal to a composite (RCA) jack. What brand is your graphics card?

Thanks Jbond04! I was wondering if that might be the issue.

I have the Visiontek gf3 ti200. I am still looking for the ideal settings for this card. I am not understanding all of the extras on this card.

as some have mentioned before, use tv-tool to adjust your tv output.

For watching videos/dvds, use 640x480 or enable 720x480 (dvd source is 720x480). Any more and your computer is just resizing your video anyway, and you're not really getting any more quality, and could be losing detail.

as far as I know, only the geforce mx cards support twinview. On GF2/3 it's just one or the other.

800x600 looks like blurry crap anyway, so don't worry about it, but I have noticed that I lose ~20pixels of video overlay on the right side during 800x600 vid playback. Don't know why.
