Great game and artwork especially. Can't expect most people to like classic adventure games though...

this is my . . . BONE SAW! (kids shriek) :D

Great game, too bad it's DOS and the animation runs a little bit off on even semi-modern machines.

I was in the middle of playing it when I upgraded my machine a year ago, I should see if I can get it to run on XP (DOSbox?).

Sure you can get it to run on XP, but since when was this a DOS game?

EDIT: I guess I'm not quite sure what is required for it to be considered a DOS game?

Dave must be a little confused....it's not a DOS game and came out in September of 1998. It runs fine in XP, at least for me.

(digs out CD) D'oh! Yes I must be -- the CD case says W95/98, DirectX 6, Pentium 133 with 32 MB of RAM at least a 2 MB graphics card.

The animation timing was a bit off on even my P3-933 though, I wonder how messed up it would be on my 3.2 GHz?

I've heard of it, but don't care for adventure games anymore.
This is one game that would be cool to even just watch someone else typing in the right responses or to play with one eye on a walkthrough. Great imaginative artwork, good story and voice acting.

I remember when it came out and reading the previews/reviews for it. Never did play it though.

Definitely one of the best games ever made.

Now I feel like playing all my Lucasarts adventure games again. Where did I put that Loom CD?

It's a pity Grim Fandango came out after the LucasArts-sparked adventure game craze was pretty much over (similar fate as Monkey Island 3, The Dig, Full Throttle). A parallel from the CRPG world is Planescape:Torment which fell into obscurity during the mad rush to wrap up the Baldur's Gate saga before people stopped caring and started jumping onto the MMORPG bandwagon. :(

Other than that, it's one of the most well-written, well-realised titles out there.

good ideas, stylish game but the puzzles were way to convoluted and cryptic for me.

Haven't completed an adventure game since fate of atlantis and monkey island :p (unless you count FFVII)

This is a great game! I played with a couple of friends and we would go home and play it at night...then come back the next day to compare how far we got. If someone got too far, they had to not play that night, the night you couldn't play was hell and my wife made sure I didn't!

As it is I HATE Lucas Arts for not continuing these games. Stop rehashing the same old Star Wars crap and start turning good stuff like this again.

This and the Monkey series were some of the most fun I've ever had playing computer games.

It would be nice if Lucasarts would go back to making adventure games. I'm sure the marketing demographic says this genre is not worth developing games for.

I played the first Monkey Island and liked, didn't care for #2. I did, however, love Zak McCracken on my C64 as well as Sam & Max on my PC. Had a heck of a time getting it to work in Windows 95 so long ago. Never played Grim Fandango, but now wonder if I should.

Yes, DO! You'll love it.

The requirements for that game are FAR too low, though. My Athlon 550 MHz system with 256 MB of RAM and a Voodoo3 16 MB had problems with it. It really helps to copy all the files off the CDs and drop them in Grim's directory.

Glad to see everyone loves it as much as I. I beat it twice many years ago, then about six months ago started thinking about it again, installed it and played it all over again. Now I kind of want to do it again. :)

I love showing it to people who have never seen it before. I almost know the whole game like the back of my hand now. If only a GF2 would come out one day. :(

Someone let me borrow the CD once and for whatever reason I never touched it. Not sure if I have it anymore. I must've been busy with something else.
