You may not be able to change people but the people that audit the website should hold people more accountable. If they held everyone accountable for what they said that would get rid of all the stupid bs that goes on. Ban someones IP address to make it harder for them to make another account. Its 3:30 here so if this doesnt make sense its because i am way over tired. peace

What's to audit? We don't ban people for being jerks, we encourage them.

You're right, I forgot about HardForums. Disagree with Kyle and see what happens.

 
You dont have to have a forum about poetry or religion to treat people with respect. Theres no reason why people have to go around bashing someone elses idea's or questions. Like I said before they must have some serious mental problems if a forum post can upset them to the point that they have to respond in a negative way. Why cant they just be an adult about everything and have a discussion about it. Why do they have to be rude and a jerk about it. There's no reason why they just cant treat people with respect. And if it does upset them why dont they just hit the x in the corner and close it out.

I don't even know what this is about. I didnt see the orignal post. But I have seen more drama on this sight then anyother. Someone should step in and say you cant play nice you cant play at all.

Now see right now we are having a discussion about everything. No one is getting bashed. No names have been stated. No one has said he misspelled this or that. It's a two way street, as mentioned in the message quoted in the OP--having a thick skin is a necessity if you're going to be posting in public forums on the internet. Why do you expect people to be any less rude/jerky online than the general population is offline?
 
These website are designed to help people. If there not here to help then they shouldn't be here. Thats where people that run the website should come in and get rid of them. When someone has cancer they cut it out. Well there's cancer here so why not cut it out. And just like cancer it will spread. When one person starts to be a jerk its just a downward effect everyone else starts. Cut out the original poster then no more cancer. Plus if they did start to ban people for making harassing forum post then people would generally stop being a jerk. Also the people that go around placing all the harassing forum post serve no purpose all there here to do is turn everything into an argument. They serve no purpose.
 
It's marvelously easy to ignore those people. Sometimes those people do have valuable contributions, despite their attitudes.
You want people to be adult and not make those posts, and I want you to be adult and ignore them when they do 😉
 
Its easy to ignore the idiots that just make stupid comments. The problem is its a bandwagon effect. When one person starts the bandwagon everyone else hops on. Instead of getting help with the problem you had or idea everyone is bashing it. So ya its easy to ignore the first person its not easy to ignore the fact you took the time to make a post you hope that you get some kinda usefull info back and all you get is the idea is stupid or you misspelled an easy word. So what do you do then. If you make a second post about your problem they will then bash that one saying it doesn't warrant 2 post.

That's the thing though. People say things on here they would never dare say in real life. I agree that lots of people need to get thicker skin but I really do think being an asshole should be a bannable offense...except for olds. I love olds.
