So, living a block from the grocery store

I can throw a rock at Safeway from here. It's convenient, but I've never found anything particularly exciting about it...

I'd probably end up driving anyways to carry stuff back without the ice cream melting, milk going bad, etc. lol.

I live across from a bodego, though, and it *is* pretty nice when I need to pick up something small that's not worth going to the grocery store for (ie: milk, bread, soda, condoms, etc)

I live a block from a grocery store, but still buy my food from Walmart, since I'm there all the time anyway.

I live a block away from a Whole Foods, Trader Joes and Microcenter. And six blocks from work. It's nice not to have to drive except on the weekends.

Less than a block from the gym and 5 blocks from Trader Joe's and Whole Foods here. Deli's everywhere though.

I used to live not even half a block from a grocery store and whole shopping plaza with a Block Buster, Little Caesar's and some kickass sub shop.

Man that was nice.

To bad my roommate was such a douche and I couldn't take another year living with him.

No.. living down the block from a Wawa-type place, and then down the street from a grocery store as well is awesomer. You need the car for groceries anyway and can just take a bike to get milk and bread from the Wawa.

Milk goes bad after a block? Where do you live where the blocks are 5 miles wide? Ice Cream might get a little soft, but nothing your home freezer can't cure. Yeesh.

I am 3 blocks from the grocery store.
I have biked there and back... but it's tough to carry a case of beer/pop on your handle bars. 🙂

Messenger bar on the back and a couple bungee straps 🙂

I much prefer taking more frequent, shorter trips to the grocery store. That way I can buy smaller quanities and use them before they go bad instead having to buy larger volumes to last longer but run the risk of them spoiling/over ripening before I get to them.

Plus it allows you to be much more spontaneous in your meal decisions if you can just walk across the street to get some oddball recipe item.

I miss having a grocery store half a mile away. I have a 6 mile trip now to get to one.

I live within 3 blocks of grocery stores, movie theater, my car dealer,.2 mile from my work,5 blks to gym. I bike everywhere, with a grocery pannier and rack. Thurs-Sat, Dutch market is in town so I stock up when they come in
