Some PCI firewire cards have headers to connect to the front of the case.
I just bought a card which has an internal Firewire port. Not a header, but a full port. These cards are easy to find and are cheap too. eg. See
here. Notice two ports at the back, and also one internal port on top.
Some cases have an internal port attached to the front connector and you just buy a Firewire cable to connect it.
Other cases have an internal port header and so you either have to make your own cable, or else the case might come with the cable.
