So, just how stable is the IWILL DDR Athlon Socket A board?

I'm thinking about making the plunge into DDR. My Current board is a MSI Pro2a, and its pretty stable. What can I expect from the Iwill? Is there a better one yet?

well the IWill KT133A got the highest rating of any KT133A board from AnandTech, so I'd be willing to try out their DDR if I was jumping on the DDR bandwagon...

Noriake, I'm not trying to create an enemy here, as you are a major contributor to this forum, but...

That is the kind of logic that has probably created regret for a lot of recent MSI owners. The Pro2 is unbelievable, yet the Pro-2A and Turbo apparently are not of the same "unbelievable" quality.

Know what I mean? 🙂

Edit: a little grammatical error...

I just switched from the MSI Pro2a to the IWILL KA266 about a week ago. Running Win2kSP1, board seems extremely stable to me, but Im not overclocking except for my memory. Hardware configuration is as follows:

Iwill KA266
1.2 GIG T-bird rev "b" (9X133)
256 megs Crucial PC1600 DDR
Elsa Geforce 2 GTS
SBLive Value
Intel 10/100 nic
IBM 75GXP 30gig
Plextor 10/12/32

Only problem I have had so far is with Clive Barker's Undying game which is not supported under Win2000 or NT4, it crashes to the desktop pretty often, so no big surprise there. The only other Iwill board I've owned was a PII slot one board (can't remember the exact model), it didn't have many overclocking options, but I could never crash the board no matter what I tried.

If only this board had both SDRAM and DDR slots I would seriously be considering upgrading. I surely don't have the cash right now to justify buying a new cpu, mobo, AND memory though.

The radeon should work fine using the latest bios (Feb 15, 2001), which my board shipped with from Newegg. There is a fix specifically for Radeons in that bios version, check the Iwill site for details.
