hahahahahaha ROFL

No, they're custom made triple paned pieces of glass that took us 3 months to procure because they were custom made in wisconsin.

I couldn't believe it either.

Maybe the Wisconsin glass company hired somebody to break the glass so that they could get another $15,000 order.

So is that $15,000 x 6 = $90,000?

Or maybe it was $15,000 for all of them.. and one was broken so, $2,500?

Still a tad expensive for a single window.

the $15k had to have been for all the glazing. I've bought quite a bit of glass and even some expensive specialty glazing, and none would have cost $15k for a sealed unit that size. I even question the $2500/per but that at least is more believable.

The issue isn't just the glass, which is 'special' but also the fact that they had to be custom done, they're about a foot higher than the conventional mass produced sizes.

The small ones bordering the garden and surrounding the grass are boxwods, the ones in the back are small fir trees I believe, the ones on the side of the house are bigger, we also have them in the front of the house as well for some privacy.

I'll ask my mom later if you'd like.

Meh, that's what insurance is for. Probably someone who knew your parents would be out of town for a while. One of your "friends" perhaps?

Thats what my dad said, there was no shortage of people that knew we were out of town, I wouldn't put it past my neighbour exgirlfriend to break into my house either.

Wisconsin is soooooooooo far from Canada. My windows in my bedroom were imported from England and are stained glass. They sure as hell didn't cost 15k.

Custom-made glass isn't uncommon. Actually it's very common. Every piece of tempered glass you see is "custom made," because tempered glass cannot be cut to size. I've ordered custom-size pieces before, and they weren't terribly expensive. That size is not an issue, because it is not a particularly large piece of glass.

I think you overheard your parents mention this $15,000 number and misinterpreted it or something. You can spend $15k on glass, but it'll be much, much larger than those doors.

I find it hard to believe that homes in a 'blue collar area' of town would accomodate 15000 panes of glass.
