-he's almost 28 and doesn't have his drivers license yet
-lives with his mom

-still has an entry level IT position
-doesn't buy anything other than "online" videogames

I dunno, I'd be pretty depressed if that was my life.

Well...
Maybe he lives in the city (using public transportation), and works for his mom knowing he'll take over the business, so there's no need to worry about advancing in the company.
Meanwhile, he's smuggling her drugs to work in that manpurse, which they do in her office to conceal their twisted love affair.

And the online videogame thing is a laundering scheme.
