So it's pretty much impossible to max out my GTX 670?

@ 1080p?

Except for Witcher 2 UBERSampling, which makes it goes to 40-45 FPS, probably the only game that seems to do so.

Got to admit it's pretty nice to play at 60 fps vsync all the time.

Metro 2033 will not come close to staying at 60 fps even without all settings maxed.

Clear Sky wont even come close to staying above 40 fps never mind 60 on full max settings.

Red Faction Guerrilla will not stay at 60 fps the whole time on max settings.

Crysis 2 will not stay above 60 fps the whole time on maxed DX11 settings with high res texture pack

Warhead will not stay 60 fps on DX10 very high settings with 2x AA or higher.

Batman AC will dip down well below 60 fps quite a bit with DX11 and physx.

GTA 4 will not stay at 60 fps on max settings but that is cpu related.

T almost nailed it down. And as funny as it sounds u can also add Diablo 3 to the list.Playing with four friends with all sort of effects going on it can come down below 60 fps at times for my 680.

Did you previously think it wouldn't be nice? What was the metaphorical barrier you had to overcome to finally admit that it's pretty nice?

There are many games like Toyota mentioned which won't run at max settings even at 1080p even if you disable msaa and disable fxaa

Pleanty of games give my GTX 670 4GB SLI a run for their money @ 1080. OP, we get it, your card is powerful, but no your point is not valid.

Below 60FPS is totally unplayable for me.
Wow, I've never thought of that. I must have become really old and unfashioned :p

I remember playing Duke Nukem 3D in the 20-35FPS range, multiplayer and that was fine with me. I suspect, if you play competitive multiplayer games (money prizes), you need 60 FPS+.

Was that on old fashion CRT screens?

Seriously, my experience on 60Hz LCD's is that well below Vsync (60FPS) feels like terrible stuttering in my opinion. But hey, that's me... Others may feel different..

With just ig settings, or modified settles?

Cause it's pretty easy to cripple my on air 470 with D3 just sitting in town.

It also has problems running 16 instances of Diablo 3 on 800x600 minimum settings.

Yeah, it was a kick-ass new 14" Samtron CRT monitor, some 16 years ago :p

Not saying I don't notice the overall smoothness of the gameplay, it is nice. I normally get to feel this experience only when a game gets old enough and I get to replay it with upgraded hardware :p

These days, I try to stay at the ~100w power consumption mark, during actual gaming (I hate electricity bills this much). Only the low to mid range video cards allow me that. And thus, 7750 fits me just fine (I game on a 15.4" wide screen LED panel) :)
