XPS laptops are almost never on sale, so this was as good as it was going to get.
I still have a couple bones to pick with Dell over my M1530. My advice for getting one of these is neeeever eeeeever choose a part listed with the brand name as "Dell". I did this with the network adapter since I didn't want Wireless N (had no real need for it... very unnerdy of me) and the wireless adapter is one of the worst aspects of my laptop (poor transfer rates over wired and wireless, poor connectivity, etc).

multi point routing (again, appear to be spotty)
fm transmitter (though people said it's crap)
traffic receiver is built in
Yeah, that's kind of why I was looking to get it for my mom. It'd be nice to have a bigger screen as she's a bit older and such. Only thing that's kind of pushing me away is that she doesn't travel often, so she won't use it
that much but she may get those few times a year when it comes in handy. My sister will be going away to college this year and my mom had fun driving up to Albany, which is where I got the idea from. But chances are, she may rarely need it. My car has built-in navigation and I know I barely use it and sometimes when I do use it, I don't really need it. But eh, I have no other decent gift ideas

.
EDIT:
MotF, what accessories did you purchase with yours?
