So it Turns Out That Microsoft Edge is Actually Not That Bad....

And by that I mean it's actually pretty good. I'm actually very impressed. Very fast and lean. Unfortunately Adblock isn't available yet, but I've been using it more and more now that I've taken the time to block ads via my router (which is something that I should have done anyway).

Makes me wonder how they'll manage to mess it up in the future.

It doesn't work correctly with Outlook Web Access (their own product), and has compatibility issues with a lot of secure sites still. Also, it still doesn't support extensions.

Sticking with Chrome.

You know I'll bet that Microsoft could release a free OS that would be generally well received and people here would still bitch about it.

Edge seems to work fine for me. Then again so does Firefox, which, according to most of the internet, is terrible compared to Chrome these days. I switch between the three and can't really tell a difference, other than the extensions.

I essentially agree, but I rarely use IE at all.

Sounds like Microsoft might have a decent new browser... just about the time that browsers go the way of the Dodo bird.

People here like to bitch about everything so I don't think it's really fare to single out Microsoft.

Likely serious. It's not an awful browser by a long stretch.

And it's not as if extension support is never coming. When it does, it will likely become my daily.

Whether it should have launched without extension support is a topic I have an opinion on; but facts on the table, Edge is standards compliant, responsive, and subjectively not ugly.

Or who knows, maybe I just haven't tried to use it enough to see some other glaring issues.

I wasn't planning on making it my regular browser until it got extension support, and that's been pushed back to 2016 now.

Yeah, things like file attachments and other popup windows don't work. Hilarious, isn't it?

Works for us. I've been migrating our Exchange 2010 servers to 2013 and everything in OWA for 2013 works great. From what I recall 2010 worked but I may not have tested attachments in that.

I've been using WIN X quite awhile now on a couple of PC's and still prefer FF I guess.

Just my two cents. I tried Edge out just a little.

Used to use Pale Moon even when it was new a long time ago, and veered back to FF after a few issues came up over time.

I agree with you, Edge seems promising, but for now I just can't get over the lack of extensions. Edge should've had extension support from the beginning.

I'm not sure what linking a thread full of misinformation and blind corporate hate really proves. Even right here we see people claim it doesnt work with OWA and can't attach files, etc, yet anyone with windows 10 can take two seconds and completely debunk the regurgitated nonsense.

It's a web browser, just like any other. Use it if it meets your needs, use something else if it doesn't. These browser fanboy arguments that pop up weekly are getting really old.
