So it turns out that Chris Kyle is....

What's interesting is that only the Ventura story can be directly linked to something Kyle said or wrote himself. Everything else is based on what other people said he said. You know, "secondhand" stories?

Additionally, his military prowess, which the movie was based on, has, for the most part been confirmed. So, it would seem that the OP has something against people who lie, particularly those that lie that may be suffering from PTSD. Doesn't matter, apparently, how he lived his life, what he did otherwise. He told, or more appropriately - with the exception of the Ventura story - may have told some outragious lies that anyone with common sense would question, and that's enough for the OP to be pleased that he's dead.

like CPA said. the parts of the military were confirmed. The other parts? yeah..take with a grain of salt...

IF anyone sat on the super dome and shot 30 people it would have been in the news..

...Well I was told that it is bad etiquette to insult the deceased...]

You were told correctly.

Kyle made up some stories after he got back, apparently while he was suffering from PTSDs, and that's is enough to make you happy he is dead??? Never mind his service to our country?

F'ing unbelievable.

...Well I was told that it is bad etiquette to insult the deceased, and as we all know; Chris Kyle is dead..... Good :)

But he was quite dishonest as it turns out.

He, like Marcus Lutrell, took real life stories that were interesting and for some weird reason embellished them. Kyle lied about shooting looters and two guys at a gas station, though the first was hearsay. The gas station he lied through his own teeth about.

Marcus of Lone Survivor turned the kills their guys suffered into a Hollywood shooting gallery.

He also lied directly about the gas shooting story.

He also lied directly about the gas shooting story.

But has already been mentioned, he was REALLY screwed up by that point. Too many years in the field and too many kills had taken their toll, he needed help and didn't get it. It's entirely possible, even probable, that he didn't actually lie about anything. In his head the gas station story could have been true, or it could have been an actual event when he scared off two robbers in a convenience store bleeding together with a combat event where he shot two bombers trying to blow up a gas station.

I'm going to venture a guess that the guy was both a psychopathic douchebag and an inbred retard well before he joined the military and killed anyone.

Do you have any reason to doubt that his war experiences are what fucked him up in the head?

I'm not sure what I find more appalling...the hagiographic interpretation (speaking largely to people's responses to the movie here) of a clearly very troubled person that killed at the behest of his country in a pointless war or the callousness of the people that are happy he's dead while just writing him off as a psychopath or worse. The truth is obviously more complex than that and watching this be turned into a yard stick for politics and patriotism is nauseating.

If people want to debate something how about the wisdom of a government prosecuting wars that don't serve the national defense (or even interest).

Takes one, to know one. Can you tell us what it's like to have your mom be your sister, aunt, great-grandmother and wife all in one?

He'll say it's because he's from Texas.

You tell bullshit stories IRL and a lot of people will call you on it.

But a book full of bullshit? OMG!!! It's in a book!!

After that it's over. You can't say anything bad about the movie characters because Fuck You! It's based on a book! U.S.A. for life!!!

Even Trekies and Star Wars geeks have more sense than all the fucktards defending the hell out of this sniper movie.

Oooh, sick iceburns, bruh.

You are right on one count, though: I treat Texas license plates as interchangeable with handicapped placards.

I'm glad for his kill count.

The movie was mediocre, though. Definitely nothing close to movie of the year.

It's a movie. Fiction. Just like Kyle's lies. Why this should give you feelings of happiness for another person's death may indicate that you are more of the psychopath than he.
