Mad World is pretty good for short bursts. I liked Tiger Woods.

Another game I thought was pretty fun was Battalion Wars 2.

Gamecube component cables WILL NOT WORK; the Gamecube actually output a digital signal (for some reason) and the official Nintendo component cables had to have an analog converter built into it, that's why there are no third party component cables for the bloody thing; they're too expensive/complex to build thanks to the converter.

Tiger Wood 10 is fun with the WM+ thingy. Okami is great too.

I bought these for my Wii and they would NOT work. I even called Nintendo and was told my tv was to "fast" for them to work. I had to take them back.
 
So, I finally succumbed to the Darkside last night and bought a Wii for the wife's early Christmas present. I'm using the really inexpensive Wii component cables from Monoprice and they work like a charm. I do have two Wii-specific questions, however.

1. Is there a way to just turn off one Wiimote? When I push the power button on a Wiimote, nothing happens, and when I hold the power button down, it turns off the whole system.

2. Is there a way to disable that annoying "feature" where the disc drive will flash blue if you turn off the system with a disc still in the drive? I don't want my Wii flashing blue all the time, but I also don't want to have to keep putting in games and then taking them out before I stop playing. I've been keeping my current game in the system since...well, the NES days! What's is Nintendo's problem with me keeping my games in the system!?

That is all...for now! We played Wii Sports and Wii Play last night, and out of the dozen or so mini games, only Bowling and Tennis were worthwhile. We did download a bunch of fun Miis though, like Ahnold, Hulk Hogan, etc.
 
I leave game discs in the system all the time, so the blue indicator is happening due to something else. I have seen this happen due to a) a pending system update or b) a marketing notification from Nintendo in my inbox (I would only expect to see either of these occur if you've hooked your Wii up to a home wireless network).

I vaguely seem to recall a system option for modifying the brightness of the drive indicator, including turning it off entirely.

I installed the latest update as soon as my Wii Internet connection was setup, and I checked all of my mail. The light doesn't flash if I remove the game disc from the drive.
 
Wiimotes turn off if idle for a brief period of time.

To disable slot illumination, go into Wii settings, WiiConnect24, then Slot Illumination.

Buy cables at Monoprice; they cables I got from there are much cheaper and work fine.

Oh, and to the OP; while not a Wii game per se, also pick up the Gamecube game Eternal Darkness (available used at Game Stop). VERY good HP Lovecraft inspired game.
