so is work harder then school?

you know, i've been wondering.....so for example, an engineer will spend most of his school time solving problems, using his math techniques, do a lot of calculus, and lots of mental thinking. A CS would spend most of his endless nights actually thinking and thinking trying to come up w/ a program to turn in. He asks the teacher, and ofcourse, the prof, wont help him w/ the program, only give him tips, and make him think.

I guess during most of our college life, we are spent "solving problems." Now, whenever you go to work in your field. Is it the same feel? It's hard in a way that you do the same thing everyday for years, and and easy in a way that you probably can use your TI-89 and computers if you need.....but is it still the "solving problem" type of feel when you actually get to the work force?

I mean, know what I mean? Is work harder or easier then school, in terms of using formulas, equations, concepts, and all that?

depends who you are and what you do for work. i get in alot less trouble at work than i did at school tho 🙂

college = fun.

work = hell. Mainly because you don't solve problems, your try to solve problems that are beyond your control and fit them into the mold that the company says you should solve them all without the proper tools or resources to actually solve them. That and your project budget got cut and the scope increased 10 fold.

Yes, its harder. By a long margin.

I have a much easier time with work than I have school. We'll see how that goes when/if I get a pharmacy internship soon.

School was more of a pain in the ass because every day you had to learn something that you didn't know the previous day. Work is probably easier because once you work there for a while you know how to do the job, and you just do it.

The age which you typically find yourself at when in school is conducive to good times, for most. When you grow up and get a job the fun is over. 😉

As JB said, it really depends on what you do. My job has got to be one of the easiest out there so I would say work is easier for me.

You stand around and fill bottles. How hard is that?

EDIT: Oh, and definately work.

depends on the work and the school...

Right now I'm doing both...
Taking 4 grad classes... this is kicking my ass big time.
3 midterm exams to do this week... papers due this week...
and I just spent my *entire* weekend (well, except for the halftime show) working on grad work.

Depends. For me, I had much more free time in school, even though I was an engineering major and an athlete. Work is less technical and more political, even though I'm in IT now. And I HAVE to be here for 8 hours each day...I never had that in school.

But they pay me well, so who cares!
