so is this Jason Mraz guy the next John Mayer?

I think Mraz is pretty good. Mayer annoys me a bit, but I'm not sure why though.

There are a couple REALLY good songs on the Mraz CD, including "I'll Do Anything" and "On Love, In Sadness."

I  Jason Mraz

I can't get enough of that song "The Remedy (I Won't Worry)" even though it is overplayed on the radio. I really have to get that CD.

Mraz is better in concert. Mayer has better guitar playing skills, but his voice isn't very original (it is good, though), and for the talent he has, I think he could be doing better stuff (IIRC, he was a student at Berklee for a while).

Ryan Adams is an amazingly talented primadonna jackass. Great in concert, though.

Never heard of Josh Rouse.

Josh Joplin needs to give Michael Stipe his voice back.

i never liked Dave Matthews much, but I really can't stand his followers. Although I will agree that all the names mentioned above are talented. I just don't dig their music.

mraz's cd is really overproduced - it's good for what it is... but what it is, isn't really "him"... you need to catch him live or download a live show to see how awesome he really is... he's touring with a full band now, but a while ago he was touring with just him on guitar, toca the djembe player and ian the upright bassist... the show i caught him at had just the threesome and it was awesome...

as far for the "next mayer"... who knows? his voice is much much better (atleast technically) than mayer's - it's so pure.. his guitar playing skills are just adequte.. nothing special like mayer...
