If you don't dream you're missing out on the best part of sleep. I dream every night, but I can only recall what I dreamt about maybe 25% of the time.

But I still vividly remember some dreams from when I was a young child.

I remember one dream where I was the commander of a flying pirate ship and I started playing a game of basketball on the clouds with some other travelers.

Weird sh*t, but funny nonetheless. :)

try popping some vitamin B complex before you go to bed. (yes, I'm serious...)

I've read about that before. Do you find it actually works? Thinking about buying some heh.

I forget where I heard about it first, didn't really believe it till I tried it. Hard to say if it makes you remember dreams better or if it makes dreams more intense and memorable... or something else.

Nothing to lose by trying in any case. :)
melatonin works too

I like to drink something sweet before falling asleep. A couple big gulps of cranberry juice gets the dreaming more vivid. Some nights my dreams are never ending. I flow from one into the other. Nothing really gets finished, but there's always more to see.

One thing I do find very annoying is when you wake up right before it's done. A great plot, involved story, just about to reach the dramatic conclusion, when the phone rings in your mind. You wake up & try as you may, but can't get back there.

I, like most people in life, don't know where they're headed. I always hope before I sleep, that I get some sort of direction in life from my dreams. It's usually just a bunch of regurgitated episodes from my memory. Entertaining yes, but I'm not getting anywhere.

Lucid dreams are the best! :D

Here's a Wikibook on the subject.

I remember when I was young, having alot of nightmares. The same ones every other night. One evening, for some reason, I woke up half way in the middle of a dream, & noticed I was still there. Usually biting my lip or something gets me in the state. I was being chased by some sort of swamp thing looking creature, when I just bursted out laughing at the silliness of it all. I swear, my own dream started getting angry, & the images started falling apart. I noticed about 30 seconds go by, before I was booted out of my own dream. Every other nightmare that bothered me was soon conquered, & eliminated all together once I learned to control them.

Of course, once I started groping people in my dreams, my conscience automatically started kicking me off the subject & waking me up. :(If I let the dreams play out, & don't interact too much, I stay asleep.

... or the worse. The few times I've lucid dreamed I've found it a very disquieting experience. I will realize I'm dreaming, but always in an enclosed space like a building, and won't be able to get out of it. I'll walk around and the place will start getting smaller and I'll be suffocating and panicking. I'll then try to "wake myself up," but can't do it and will panic even more so. When I do finally wake myself up I find my chest to be pounding.

I don't think I'd be a good candidate for LSD.

I dream almost every night and recall them to full detail, they're also mostly in color. I've had a few lucid dreams too, where I'll realize I'm dreaming and become in "control" of it. I usually wake up immediately after that though.

Are there any other vitamins or foods that can induce dreaming?

I've always been interested in whether or not dreams are based on a person's psychological state. In fact if I had the training I would love to get into studying dreams as an occupation, seems like really interesting work.

i almost always remember my dreams, the only time I dont remember my dreams is when something happens that brings me out of my sleep really quickly and suddenly, such somone dragging me out of bed, cold water. Even my alarm isnt sudden enought to make me forget me dreams!!
