im surprised they are still so hard to get. i figured people would realize after a year that the wii really is not that great.

thats only an opionin alot of pl have stated how much they not only like the wii but LOVE it. I think its awsome that nintendo tries to step outside the norm. sometimes it fail miserably (virtual boy) and sometimes it rock the socks off (The Dual Screen) Obviously they did something right since they are kicking M$ and Sonys ass in sales. who gives a flying flunk if the graphics arnt as good as them its games that count. and one thing Nin. reknowned for is super strong 1st party games. I think we will see a good handful of games in the next quarter.

And another thing that it has going for it is its priced for an average family, easy enough to setup and play for an average fam, and the games are directed towards playing with friends and family. Its interactive, multiple player based. How is that not good? I think nintendo hit the nail on the head I just wish it wasnt SO gimmicy. I know thats the hook wot that controller but we will see how thing turn out.

it's not me that thinks the wii is lacking games. just look at the attachment rate of games to the wii, as well as the # of wii games in the top 10 list every month, as well as the total # of "good" games based on reviews of the major gaming sites/mags.

I just got one for my son at Best Buy. Walked in and they had it in stock, but they were not on display. They have them locked somewhere so you need to ask a rep for it.

I had tried twice before during the weekend, but I always got a "oh, we JUST ran out yesterday" kind of reply. They told me they get small amounts of Wiis on a regular basis but they run out fairly quickly. So, I figured the best thing was to go on a thursday or friday, before the weekend rush depletes their stock. Either it worked, or maybe I just got lucky :D

That being said if she DOES come across one id say get a few extra wii-motes and nun chucks. and also she should get some flash memory I think it takes SD cards but with only 512mb of onboard memory that extra space is a must. also if she gets one she should send in for the 4 free wiimote skins. they are free so i mean why not.

Thats what I thought. My local gamespot (none listed online) has been getting regular deliveries (got on the other day) as well as the local walmart is getting near daily deliveries. I went in Walmart the other day after looking online and the online on walmart.com the only thing they had were $500+ bundles. But there sat 4 wii's for $249.

Just depends on the area and how many asshats are hoping to make a quick buck by sucking up the supply. It is a hot gift this Christmas... so it will be getting harder to find.

This is the first time that I have seen in the Toronto area more than a single Wii in stock. The Walmart at Bayview and Major Mac just stocked the bottom shelf full of Wiis. It was like 15-20 units. I wonder if it will survive the evening?

All new ones come with the wiimote covers.

I still haven't gotten my skins yet :| Anyways, it's pretty hard to find them around the GTA... I remember the guy at Wal-Mart saying their sold out and will get more for the Christmas rush.

Be sure to go to Amazon and vote for a wii in this year's amazon black friday madness. If you're very, very, very, very lucky you can buy one on Thanskgiving for $79.

I've seen them in stock twice in the past week browsing casually. Once at gamestop, the other time at BB.. Both cases, they were leaving the store pretty fast.

The wal-mart here seems to get a few just about every week - and the sell the same day they come in stock.
