So, is anyone getting the new Xbone?

The new Kinect really temps me. In my married life controller-based hardcore games are dead to me. The most use I have gotten out of any console the last two years is playing Kinect games with my wife.

Probably. It's probably what my friends/family will get, so I'll want to be on the same system. We use the media apps constantly, like HBOGO, which PS3 doesn't have. We find the kinect to be very convenient for those media apps.

Yeah, we currently use our 360 more for media than we do gaming, so I'm probably exactly the consumer MS is targeting.

I haven't had a console since the Atari2600. I'm opposed to limited use, locked down specialty computers, where the only feature that differentiates it from a general purpose computer is the artificial restrictions. and fuck Sony.

I agree. I still use the PC for gaming anyway. My son is the Xbox user in our house. He is also not happy about the restrictions with the Xbone.

Nope.. For consoles I'll stick with Nintendo. There really isn't anything MS and Sony are offering that interests me that my existing PC can't already do. Nintendo doesn't really compete with PCs as the others do, it actually offers unique gaming you can't easily get on a PC.

I did buy a PS3 though when they came out, was a "cheap" bluray player at the time.

If I was in the market for a console, I'd get the PS4 over the XB1. But I've got a gaming PC so I don't need or want one.

I never buy at launch. I wait for the price to drop, and for the system to have a decent catalog of games available at reasonable prices. In this case, I have to wait and see if MS pulls their heads out of the asses in regards to this whole digital lockdown ensuring I never actually own anything. I'm not going to spend a bunch of money on something that someone else can take from me without warning and without recourse.

Maybe eventually... I had a Xbox 360 given to me for free since it's so old now. That is how I like to acquire my consoles. All I use my PS3 for is Blu-Ray and Netflix. I don't use the 360 at all.
