i spent it with 3 of houston's finest. friend got blitzed, we took his keys, he got beligerent. argue for a good 45 minutes and then he leaves. walks away on foot. its pouring rain, some lightning, not nice weather in general. we go out looking for him, i find him, he won't get in the car. other friend drives up in drunk guy's car, and they start arguing. we'll take him and his car home, but he can't drive. meanwhile, we're parked on a side street about 30 feet from a major street (westheimer, for those in the know), and sure as hell a cop comes by. it was only a matter of time.

so the cop points at drunk dude and tells him to spread em across the hood of the car. drunk dude is telling the cop we stole his car. cop can see that drunk dude is drunk (after more than an hour), and starts asking him questions. i'm sitting in my car on the other side of the cop car from them. at this point they both move and i can't see them. i'm not really sure what happened, but i think drunk dude may have hit the cop. the thing i do know is that cop threw drunk dude against the car hard, cuffed him, and threw him in back.

about this time 2 more cops roll in. they ask other friend his story, then ask me mine, and have us go to a parking lot. they start giving drunk dude a talking to, and i'm sure i wouldn't have wanted to be on the receiving end. at this point drunk dude's father rolls up. cops explain what was going on, and release drunk dude into father's custody. drunk dude doesn't want to get into the car, with his father clearly pissed. the cops come over and make him get in the car, and give him another dressing down. from the bits i caught it wasn't pretty. i'm pretty sure he would have been taken in had father not shown up.

all this because dude wouldn't accept a ride home...

drunk dude needs to thank friends & father for saving him from a world of trouble.

...though, he probably won't even remember. :(

Whos house? The drunk friend or the friend driving the drunk guys car? You should have taken the drunk guy home, left his car there but taken the keys.

That's messed up. He's fortunate that you guys were there, and that his dad showed up.

I must admit though, I laughed everytime I read "drunk dude"! :p

You're a good man for doin that for him. Props. Belligerant drunks are among the worst in my mind. It could have been worse though, he could have been arrested, so I guess he got lucky.

I spent my extra hour sleeping after smoking some bad stuff the night before. Never had my head hurt so much.

If you expect a drunk dude to think rationally you should have just let him drive to begin with.

I also got into a verbal fvckfest with a couple cops one night that mentioned they were going to have their way with me once I was drunk.

For a few cops beating up a drunk is a free 'Pass Go' card.
