So in the future... physical PCs will disappear?

Uhhh... Cloud computing is about as client/server as you can get.

You can call it whatever you want... if anything we are moving MORE toward a client/server model, which is what we had mostly before PCs took over. Moron.

You know what I started typing my response, it was a reasonable answer with an explanation of my views and the reasons I phrased my original post the way I did, when I started writing it I hadn't fully read your post, I had just skim-read it for the main points. Then I spotted the "moron" comment at the end, if you want to discuss something, don't use insults. Grow up, go fuck yourself.

In many other parts of the world, more people have smartphones than personal computers. It's how it is in Japan.

FYI, that's majorly because of population density + abundance of PC cafes (therefore cheap).

I don't see that happening here.

What I do see happening over the next decade or two is smartphones increasing in power and storage density to the point that they can do 95% or more of what people use their computers for. When that is combined with high speed short range wireless connections able to support high def video, your phone will be your computer. Just set it down next any monitor/keyboard/mouse and press a couple buttons, and you're in business.

puhlease, you've never shyed away from a internet slap fight.

You decided not to respond because he is right and you are wrong.

The only problem with this is that I can't friggin stand tiny screens and tiny keyboards.

I like that I can check my email on my phone, and respond if I have to, but only something short. But nowadays people want to watch movies and live sports on the phone? wtf is wrong with people? wtf is the point of a 1080p movie on a 4 inch screen.
