So in Breakfast Club, everyone finds a partner, except for the Geek.

Here you start thinking, well this movie seems different, it's not like the rest. Then the ending comes and ruins everything. The jock get the weirdo chick, the rebel/criminal dude gets the princess, but the geek writes the paper and goes home alone. Wow.. talk about cliches.

That weirdo chick was sooooooooo cute. Yes I know she was around 30 at that time.

So, in reality, between those 3 guys who would NOT get a girl?
It seems pretty realistic to me... sad, cliched, depressing... but realistic.

BTW, I love that movie.

Yeah, she was kind of cute, but so much dandruff. You meet a few of her type at art school.

Great movie.

Well, considering there were 3 guys and 2 girls some funky stuff would have to go down for everyone to be hooked up. Not that I have anything against funky stuff... no siree bob! :)

Oddly enough, I was watching a special on AMC the other night, and Anthony Michael Hall hooked up with Molly Ringwald in real life while working on the movie. So much for the stereotypes.

It's alright...that geek may not have gotten any, but years later he woke up from a coma with special powers that enabled him to see the past and future through some sixth sense.

Yeah, that's true, but also he lost his girlfriend to a freak with scissors for hands.

In theory, he could've hooked up with the Janitor.

I thought it was assumed that, like most geeks, he went home with his left hand....

Wasn't that why he was pumping his fist after finishing writing the paper?

Why am I not surprised to find a discussion about a 20 year old movie's ending?

<---In high school when this movie came out. In fact, went to the theater straight from Saturday School to see it. :D

No way. Carl was way too cool to hook up with Brian.

Congratulations! You figured it out in just under two decades!

I remember thinking at the time that, except for Emilio Estivez, if someone had shot the entire cast of that movie, it probably would have been a good thing.

No big deal. I'm sure she was eating her heart out when he founded microsoft and became a multibillionaire.

I believe AMH had a huge drinking problem at that stage in his life. Women love alcoholics losers for some reason, so back to the sterotypes.

It's fine the way it is... and it's not like the geek is all sad about it. Michael is rather happy in the end. I think it's a wonderful ending to an amazing movie.

EDIT: also, what are you expecting when there are 5 characters to work with? :)

we're forgetting about the possibility he hooked up with the principal.

also, you've technically put a spoiler in the thread title. :)

The movie came out 20 years ago. If some one hasn't seen it yet, its already been spoiled for them by some one before us.
