maybe you would have the cash if you didnt get 400 die-cast models of the real thing. kinda like real dating vs cybering

I hated the 04 and 05 Vipers, seriously looked like sh!t but the new one makes me cream. And this is their first hard top one right?

friend has one. It's a very powerful machine, wouldn't say it's exactly the best track car though.

Now if you tune it and slap on twin turbos, that's a WAY different story.

Should you get it?

The real question is why do you want it.

If it's for the style and looks then there really isn't anything else out there like it.

If it's for the performance, you can spend less money and get something just as sporty off the track and in a lot of cases more fun to drive (all wheel drive Subaru WRX comes to mind). Straight line acceleration is fine, but having a lighter car with great handling and plenty of power will put more smiles per miles on your face.

If you are going to buy just to show off having one, then the odds are you will quickly tire of it and move on to something else once the "thrill" wears off.

It's your money and your life. Frankly if you have to ask "should I", then the odds are the answer is no in just about any situation.

I make $7.5/hr and the base price is $85,745. Just to reach that I'll need to work 11432.666666666666666666666666667 hours. Considering I work 24 hours a week on average that means 476.361111111111111111111 weeks, or roughly 9-10 years :)

with those math skills you should be working at a job where you can get one in 10 hours ;)

I love the late 90s GTS model, those are sooo freakin sweet. go for it if you can afford it and drive it like it needs to be driven

Lots of torque! If you have the money you shouldn't be posting on AT for advice, get whatever the hell you want even if everyone else disagrees... once you reach that point of financial success you get what you want!

I think the new Corvette is a better deal.. beats the Viper in a lot of the handling and performance numbers.. Also, it's much more 'daily-driver' friendly and you don't have to worry about kiling yourself every time you let go of the clutch.

But either car, you got mad POWA!

go for it! Sports cars are too much fun.

Answer: no

Why get that when you can get a Lotus Ellise for less. Or a NICE BMW or Lexus?

Elise? Thing is tiny, won't work well for daily driving

BMW or Lexus? Just take a look at how they look! I mean, the Viper will stand out!

Don't get me wrong, a Lexus or BMW will be excellent, but damn, the body looks much sportier...
