WTF do I do? I mean.. lol

I've had long hair so long, I don't know anything else. I don't know what to say when I go into the salon. And I'm going to go to somewhere like that, not a chain haircut place like SuperCuts or whatever.

That's really my biggest holdup. WTF do I say? I have no idea what kind've "style" I want.

I have no sense of fashion. I have no idea what would look good or what I want.

Oh, and of course.. pics.

Help! I need the Stacy and Clinton of barbers.

I went into the barbershop Friday because I had a birthday dinner to go to that night. I dreaded going... first thing the guy says to me (I go to him 3x a year)... "crew cut?" I laughed and said no I came in again because I have to celebrate something.

If you've got no particular reason to "clean up"... like pictures or interviews, go for the #1 clip. Take it all off. :D

wow, that recent shot with your cat is such a great pic!

actually, that hippy/ Jesus look does suit you very well. you have a handsome face :)

maybe you should leaf thru some magazines to see examples of hair cuts you like.

so how come you've decided to get your hair cut, any way?

I've had long hair for the longest time. I got 4(+) inches taken off just a few months ago and I wish that I would have done it sooner. Before that my hair was half way down my back. I always got a few inches taken off but that's about it. I was afraid what I'd look like w/ short hair but it had to be done. I'm went back to college and will be graduating this fall. It's impossible to get a good paying job with long hair. I'm a special education major as well so I knew that I'd have to maintain a conserative look.

My advice: Just do it. Your heart is going to race a bit and you might be frightened about your new look but JUST DO IT. After it's done you'll like it.

I use gel in my hair. I use a dimes worth and I'll message it into my hair. I have my hair blown up which looks great on me. Not too conserative. I can still style it the way that I want it and it looks great.

Anyway, I don't know. My girlfriend has been bugging me for years it seems, and I think maybe it's just time for a change...

And think of the monthly shampoo cost savings! :Q:p;):D

Meh, i suggest not going for too extreme a change, i get it cut every six months or so, and the barber always manages to make me look stupider than i could have imagined possible :p

Ideally go for a slightly more conservative chop, you can always get more taken off, but it takes quite a while to grow back :(

I don't have a job, and that's something I'm thinking about. It'd probably make finding one easier.

In a shorter direction, I guess? There's not really any other choices.. lol

She's never really told me what she thinks would look good, lol.. I'll have to ask her.

It sounds like a buzz cut is probably the best option, bleh.

I have a bump on my skull, and I think it would be noticable and look funny if my hair was TOO short.... lol

there have to be other options than a buzz cut. see what the person in the salon has to say, I suppose. they should be able to work with you to come up with something you liek. good luck, anyway

That's why you go to a salon. Just ask them, I'm sure they'll have some ideas. They usually have catalogs with some examples in them, just let them help you figure it out. That's why you don't go to super cuts and go to a salon instead, that's what they are there for.

didn't we PM way back and you sent me pics of you and your gf? your girlfriend looked the same, but you didn't have that much hair and you seemed like a bigger guy.

I think you should talk to the stylist first, since the styles that will work depend on the type of hair you have.

Well just book an appointment somewhere, and let them know that you dont really know what you want done. They can give you some ideas.

I cut my own hair everyweek, and it is nice only having to shampoo my head once a week.
