I have been applying to scholarships/summer internships with Microsoft, the government, etc. and then just paid co-ops with several companies who recruit through RIT (I'm a 2nd year Computer Engineering Major).

Anyway I finally get one response back and it wants to know how much I know about (drumroll) visual basic. It has been since 10th grade in high school since I took a class in visual basic. I suppose after studying Java and C++ this will not be very difficult...
What I am worried about is one company offering me a co-op in the next week or two, but then the others won't respond until next quarter when they start thinking about the summer quarter. How do you handle telling a company that you need time to consider all offers without sounding like you might be holding out for something else you had your eye on? I also want to express interest to all those who get back to me but I don't want to make it sound like I'm desperate
Since this would be the first time going on co-op this does indeed make me a bit nervous, especially if its with a company that does not have a co-op program through RIT (ya we'll hire you for 3 months to make coffee for the "real" engineers, lol)
