So I'm probably not going to get my BS til I'm 25

So I made a few decisions and have changed my mind one too many times. I won't have my BS until I'm 25. I'm sort of stressing about that. Sometimes I feel like quitting school and working full time. Should I stick with my plan and get my Bachelor's? Is 25 really that old? I don't know...

I hope not, I'll be 24 when i get mine.

I just wanted to edit this real quick and say that perhaps you're feeling the same way I often feel. I don't know what the reason behind your 'delay' it but I had to take 2 years to settle a lot of issues. I struggle a lot at times to not feel like that time was 'wasted' and that I am somehow behind in life. Life isn't a race, and if it is I don't want to finish first. Take a breath, and try and enjoy it.

Don't feel bad, my co-worker is in his early 30s and is still working towards his BS. He hasn't stopped going to school since he was 5, either.

<---- 26 taking a few undergrad classes working full-time undergoing a career change. 4.0 so far. can't wait to being my MBA in fall.

Not everyone takes a straight shot from high school through college. I started college right after high school, got my associates degree, took another couple classes, and have been in and out since while working. I should be getting my bachelors at 25 too.

Nice job sniperruff!

Topic Summary: Is that too old?

No, forward progression in your pursuit of higher education is just that, forward progression IMO BlancoNino! 🙂

25 is not too old. Honestly 25 is the age when, in my opinion, one starts to really become an adult. You have many years left to start your career, have a family, buy a home, etc.

not at all. If you check out a school like Cal Poly SLO, most students take a few extra semesters to graduate. Their slogan goes:

Graduating college in 4 years is like leaving the party at 9 PM.

I'm 26 and still going. It's looking like I'll be 27 until I get the degree. 😱

Out of high school without a damn clue what to do with myself. After years of being told what to do, I finally had a choice. With many options before me, and my indecisive nature, I didn't have a damn clue what to do. I was good with computers, and Cisco seemed like a decent enough company, so what the heck, Cisco networking.
Spent 2 years on that and hated it.
Worked for almost 3 years in retail.

Still with little idea of what I wanted to do, but some idea of what I didn't want to do, it was back to college for a 4 year mechanical engineering technology degree and finding myself utterly bored and uninterested in most of the material. Yay.🙁
At least I stand to get a job that pays well, which is why I'm here.

Would you rather be 25 with a bachelor's degree or 25 without one?

This is the best response.

People face different situations, some go to school full time and don't work, some work part time, and then work full time and go to school part time. I once heard about a lady that was 95 when she got her degree, so I don't think 25 is too bad. 😛

I was 24 when I got mine.

....but I worked a full time job ever since I was 19 to pay for it. Work was one of the factors of the time it took me, but the other was class scheduling, prerequisites, etc...

I believe the average these days is older than most people think. The average age of a university student is 25 I think.

What??? No.

This is what I'm thinking. I mean i guess this is all brought on by other guys I've graduated with that are making like 15-20 dollars an hour already....but my theory is that I'll get my degree and immediately be making about what they're making and THEN have it totally pay off after 5-10 years in my field of work. Am I right?
