Okay I hear some people are taking a 8045 and a LA1 and cooling a tbird@1.4ghz...
What if I only want to cool a 1.2ghz mp?
I think if both are using default voltage the the 1.4=72max 1.2=54max.
Thats like 30% less heat at least. LA1 does 27ctf (laf) assuming it really does, 30% less than that is ~20... the 15dB adda does that. Thats assuming the CFMneeded vs heat is linear. A 60CFM fan doesn't cool twice as well as a 30CFM... the 30 is like 70% as good.
So then you're only needing like 14CFM or something stupidly low.
14CFM? What fan does that?
The Papst 8412NGL is 12dB and does 20CFM... 7v it and get just over 1/2 teh power... 11CFM or so?
That'd be singledigit dBs... inside a case... who could hear that?
Wire 2 ATX powersupplies together... so they split the load almost. A computer using 170watts at any given time... more when fans/harddrive is spnning up but that only lasts a couple seconds... so 170watts... split over 2 powersupplies... so 85watts/ps...
Ever find old computers who's ps fan is dead and its been like that for god knows how long? If you have 2 300w ps, they're cooling is made to be able to keep it cool enough if you are drawing the max, 300watts... if you're using less than a 1/3 that... 7v panaflows. Actually most powersupplies get like 80%eff... so it'd take 100watts and put out 80watts and make 20watts of heat..... 20watts of heat?? 7volted panaflow could keep that cool enough... now room temp, but under 60C.
I want 3 80mm fans in my case... 9dB-cpu + 10dB-ps + 10dB-ps = just<16dB.
Then i'd just have to figure out how to silence my harddrive.
Tell me where my thinking is wrong. BTW its 4am and i'm pretty bored cause i can't sleep. HIGHLY doubt this would work out irl, but i wanna know why.
