...and I'm getting freakin' pwned. Those damn headcrabs take off 10 health every time they jump at you! Then on that big ramp thing early in the game, those headcrabs are flying down that ramp the whole time, and just collect at the bottom. I tried to take on like ten of them at once with my crowbar, not a good idea.

But I dunno, playing this through again, to this day, I haven't played anything more fun.

Theres a way to slide down the whole thing without using the ramp elevator, it avoids the headcrabs

HL source is out? as in Half Life 1 redone in the source engine?

Yes, I know that trick, I used to do it all the time, just slide down while holding down the back key. HOWEVER, it doesn't work in Source!! Controls are different.

the game is exactly the same as HL1 with a few better textures and some different lighting. no source physics or anything.

actually i just read up on it a little and it's the oppisite of what you just said... it has the source physics with the same exact textures as the origional HL (not even blue shift's upgrades)

Yeah it's really ridiculous that they didn't stick the HD pack in this.

I don't know if there are Source physics, but I can assure you it plays differently. Much faster, zippier, can't use that ramp trick, etc.

Welcome to 2004.

like i frikken said... i havent done pc gaming for over 3 years now, just recently (like 2 months ago) have gotten a rig that would allow me to play again. (just enough time to have played a few demos and beaten HL2... ive been focused on the HL2 expansion and must have overlooked HL1 source

Yep, you certainly need a few months to find such a well hidden secret.

I think I can run through this entire game in my mind.

I believe this is the seventh time I'm playing through it.

it's definitely running on source physics because it's on the source engine
edit: beaten to it

HL 1 was awesome, although it dragged a bit in the middle. oh, and the end boss/level blew chunks. but the rest was amazing.

HL 1 source was a sham. i was really hoping they'd redo the models/textures/lighting along w/ the new physics, but they put almost no effort into it. its funny how good i thought the graphics were back then. now i can barely stand to look at them :)
