Picked it up yesterday... First impressions, WOW, the screen is very bright, Mario Kart DS is fun to play, haven't opened up Tiger Woods nor Advance Wars yet, wanted to see what i thought before i opened them all up...

Well, unfortunately there are two things i was dissappointed with. #1 - You can't battle on the internet with Mario Kart DS (battle was always my favorite thing to play back in college, we used to play that for hours), you can only race. #2 - Thing this is so small, its honestly uncomfortable for me to use. Now this may be something i will get used to, but its been giving me a hand cramp when i've used it for longer than 10-15 minutes at a time. I even watched a review online that showed a different way to hold it, but even that feels uncomfortable for me. Its something to do with how you have to twist your thumbs back to use the controls, but still be able to support it from behind and use the upper rear controls that just makes my hands hurt...

Anyone else get this from playing the DS? My hands aren't huge or anything, but they are fairly large. This is kinda dissappointing as of now, never thought comfort would be an issue.

I've got pretty big hands, and I love it. I love the new dpad as well, I almost beat my record of 1:33:812 on yoshi circuit, which is a feat. I think that battle is really down played on the DS as it was on the GC version. get brain age, it's a good "game".

local gamestores (at least around me) always have those demo consoles and stuff. I would have tested if i liked it there before dropping the buck on it. I personally found it too small and the game selection didnt really "wow" me. My friends DS lite does indeed have a great screen that is even easy to see in daylight. I personally think it was geared more towards smaller handed people. (i though i saw someone that had a battery extender/expanded grip type thing that made it easier to hold.)

The psp had somewhat more adult games and funcionality to me. It also feels kind of like holding an old Sega Genisis controller with a huge screen in the middle.

I did try it out locally, but you don't actually hold it in the stores, its held for you....

You should try advance wars, I think it is mostly stylus controlled so you might have more fun with that. Same with Brain Age if you want to pick it up, it's half price of a "regular" game.

well, i played it a bit more and im starting to get used to it. Combined with the fact that i just picked up another one at TRU - $149 including Brain Age, Brain Academy, and a Case, i'll deal with a little handcramping :D
