and would like to lose 70 more to get down to 250lbs. At 250lbs, I'll be 16% body fat, so that is fine with me. :)

I'm losing approximately 1-2 lbs a day now (been on the diet for around 3 months) and hope to get there within 2.5months. I'm on a low carb diet, walk/jog 4-5 miles a night along with lifting weights for my arms, chest, and back.

I feel better than I have in years! It's really amazing...

Well, wish me luck guys! :)

Joe

btw: Here is a pic I took a couple of weeks ago when I had lost around 60lbs, I'm the one in the middle with the weird look on my face....: http://www.lowcarbsweb.com/forums/uploads/post-2-1059100790.jpg

No more pics until I'm at my goal weight. :)

What kind of foods do you eat?

Chicken, beef, nonstarchy veggies (green beans, spinach, cabbage, etc.), fish, pork, cheese, nuts, and lots more

I also eat a long list of low carb specific foods (ie, made especially for low carb diets) such as:

Low carb tortillas
Low carb breads
Low carb muffins and brownie mixes
Low carb pancakes with low carb syrup
Low carb candy (chocolate, caramel, vanilla, mint patties, peanut butter cups, etc.)
Low carb cookies (chocolate chip, oatmeal, etc.)
Low carb shakes (that actually taste good, not like Slim fast crap!)

The main thing is learning moderation and portion control. I eat 6 times a day and none of my meal are huge. I had a low carb pancake the other week (around 8" diameter) and I was FULL beyond belief. I used to eat 4-5 of those without a problem. You stomach actually shrinks back to normal size when you don't overeat like most of us are so used to doing.

I'm amazed at the difference in my appetite.

I too am trying to lose weight (and get fit) so i can get public service jobs )police, firefighte, etc.). Right now, I'm too outta shape from 7 hours of video games a day and junk food. I also like eating pork fat with peanut butter...from my winter hiking days....which doesn't help.

Congrats and well done!

I know how you feel...I'm currently doing the low carbs, walk/jog and excercise routine too. I've only been able to lose about 15 lbs. in a month, but I'm commited to stick to it till I get to my target weight of 160 or less. You are my hero!

Good luck!

Good job but I only hope that you can maintain keeping that weight off.

I've heard that's the toughest, sure anyone can LOSE weight but KEEPING IT OFF seems difficult.

Way to go!!!

Outstanding! Do you by chance have a dietary and exercise plan for when you reach your target weight? I'd be curious to hear about it.

Nice job, and congrats! Throwing some leg workouts into your lifting sessions might help you out as well and will ensure that you are properly proportioned as you get closer to your target weight. Just something to throw around, I'm no expert.

The other day some guys here were saying that if you don't do leg work your testosterone levels don't get as high.... Not sure if that is true either....

IN ANY CASE, again, my hat goes off to you. :)

If you are as fat as I am, it's actually ok. As long as you are getting a healthy balanced diet, loosing 1-2 lbs a day is fine.

My diet isn't what is making me loose the weight, it's my workouts.

Actually, I already have HUGE legs! That is where I have most of my muscle. It's not easy to carry around 380lbs for years... your legs have to be able to withstand the weight and therefore build large muscle to support the weight. You should see my calves. :)

Ohhh and it's rock hard when I flex it, so it ain't fat. :)

Nice job dude. Keep it up, cause 15% body fat wont be good enough, you'll want to get down to 7% to get that 8-pack!

I lost 40 pounds in the past 10 weeks, and I have about 25-35 to go, depending on my bodyfat. I can't measure it until i go back to school, but I'm sure i'm in the low 20's now.

70 + lbs is not a diet, it is a life style change! Congratulations!!
