So i'm rocking the beard lately but i've noticed that after i shower in the morning that i have a lot of hairs that are going crazy.

Is there a good recommended beard oil that isn't too pungent but will help to tame my beard?

My skin is pretty sensitive and i get breakout's pretty easily from anything oil-based so i'm looking for something that will tame my beard hairs but keep breakout's to a minimum.

@Perknose I love your beard, any suggestions??

Lol, I've never seen beard oil, and only recently even heard of it. I don't do anything more exotic than shampoo and conditioner. I understand they now have "leave in" conditioner, which is probably just conditioner that costs a little more and has "leave in" in its title. Maybe that would help?

Thanks Perk, I've only recently been researching beard oil and found a lot of them on Amazon and thought they sounded good. Figured i'd ask you as you've got a killer beard going on. :)

I got my daughter a bath set from India years ago. Came with soap, oil, and a couple other things. The oil is rice bran if I remember right, and has a dark spicy scent. If I remember, I sometimes put a little of that in my beard, and brush it through. A little goes a long way for oil content, and it smells nice without being overbearing. I'd experiment with stuff like that; maybe olive oil. I can't see how specialty products could be much better, and their prices are pretty high.

Thanks, i saw some pretty pricey products on Amazon for beard oil and wasn't sure if they were worth it.

I use this oil: http://www.gibsgrooming.com/store/m...db0-b9f1-f5449d505794?category=beard & facial

No particular reason to pick that one other than my barber shop had it and it's been working nicely so I'll probably buy more when I run out.

I apply it every couple days, or whenever I think about it. Helps make the beard softer and less coarse. Though if your beard hairs are actually hard to control and go all over you might need something like a beard balm, it's more like a gel I guess, never used any myself. For washing I just use regular shampoo (Herbal Essences in my case), all the beard shampoos I could find smell way too strong. They say it's not good to use regular shampoo but it's been ok for me. I'm only on my 2nd year of growing a beard so kinda a beard noob myself. :p Going to make it a yearly thing now, even debating on just keeping it for summer too... will be kind of sad to shave it.

That little bottle has lasted me all year so far, and probably have enough left when I regrow next year. So that $20 goes a long way. you only use like 2 little drops and then work it in.

you need to train your beard and make sure to tame those hairs by brushing and combing every day. all of the hairs will begin going in the same direction.

I always play with my beard, I'm like an autistic kid with a fidget spinner. But I think oddly that probably helps tame it too, as mine actually grows pretty well. I don't go for the super well combed look though, but a bit bushy yet still uniform.

I have some "grave before shave" beard oil and beard balm and used it for a while when I had longer facial hair. They have a lot of scents (I think I have bourbon something) and I enjoyed it, but it didn't seem to noticeably "tame" my facial hair much, which is extremely thick and wiry. I even used a beard comb and it didn't do much for me.
