No shit? My Uncle went to Korea for work too and he loved it there. He actually only stayed for 2-3 years then moved to Alaska for another job opportunity, but wants to move back to Korea in 5 years. Basically, they're very open to Americans and many places actually speak English, but it helps to know the basic vocabulary.
 
My older brother was there for a few years. There was lots to do and see. Like anywhere you can party like mad as the dollar goes a long way there. Enjoy!

edit: a guy in my office was telling me about how korean girls try to get in good with the military guys who are over there and end up marrying them just so they can come to the US. so watch your back. and don't get STDs 🙂.
