:Q WTF... sticker for the 1998 Turbo was ~$40,308... granted its not limited edition and not BPU but this one has 21k miles... and a claimed $5.5k in mods. Gotta admit though... thats the cleanest used Supra i've seen in awhile... but damn... thats a lot of money for an about to be 8 year old car.

"Why won't you get a new viper instead?" I was like no I like the supra better. In other words my parents want me to get a expensive new car. My brother, sister, cousins say it's a ugly car. They're like why won't you get a rangerover or something better than the supra? In other words they want me to get a new expensive car.

It was funny the first time, but not this time.

yea but the other guy had a fancy CRX. Maybe it would have been better if I said my parents wanted to get me a crx.

trust me, the idea of anyone owning a dodge aries/plymouth reliant is funny

hey, you can turn a reliant into a 10 second car...

i know but i prefer to run it with a cracked radiator, no cv boot, a mysterious oil leak and a bad egr valve. It just adds so much more to the mystique and character to the car than driving really fast with no seats ever could

Get something with less power and a more "inexperienced driver"-friendly powertrain. RWD I-6 with sequential turbos isn't exactly good for a guy that is "still learning" how to drive. Too many nice cars have been wrecked or damaged by young drivers.

Best to get the bad habits out of your system with a car that you wouldn't care too much about. Learn car dynamics from there and translate it to the Supra later. I would recommend a used BMW 3-series since your parents obviously want you driving something that reflects their financial success. That will help you respect RWD dynamics first... you don't need the intricacies of driving a turbocharged car thrown into the mix to make your life difficult.

And yes, consider yourself lucky... bastard ;)

EDIT: that Supra isn't worth 30k... mods DEVALUE the car... that means it's been driven hard and most likely any performance mods were improperly matched or installed. I retract my previous statement about tuning... the mods performed have no relevance in tuning the car... because they're obviously not worth $5k and not worth 400hp. I smell BS... ricer BS.
