I agree with his laughter. Most of the jap. suv's around here are driven buy asains. Heck Toyota was going to start producing Lexus in japan. Anyone here anymore on this?

Also, check with MAME and see if he spotted a lot of suv's driving around japan.

Asians here are considered Asian-Americans. They live by American lifestyle. I'm Asian and if i were to go to asia, they would consider me American. Stop being so ignorant.

That would explain why you're partial to Japanese vehicles.

I'm Korean and korean people do not like japan and japanese cars or do they even let them sell their cars in korea. You will not see any hondas being driven around in korea. My parents bought this car because they compared this car to other SUV's both domestic and foreign and found this MDX to be the best choice, not because its "asian"

Times have changed. Japanese car companies are allowed to and do sell cars in Korea now.

You said it. Plus, its funny how you categorize all Koreans as hating Japanese. I'm Japanese. I've been to Korea lots of times. Never had any hate towards me. I've got lots of Korean friends. My wife is Korean, who grew up in Korea and went to college there.

And I suppose to some my original question was pretty stupid. I never owned or driven an SUV and didnt know it gets this much of a bad MPG.
That huge sales sticker with the EPA estimates prominently displayed could have been your first clue.

japanese fanboys need to get over their cars already.

just because you drive something from over there doesn't mean it will last to 200k miles, go 0-60 in 3 seconds, and get 50 mpg.

Of course that is a little unrealistic, but my '94 Integra has over 150k and gets 30MPG without effort (often taking it to the limit).

It was an hand-me-down. If I would've known I would've exhanged it for a car.

Oh that's cool. I dont have any hatred towards japanese either. I actually like them. I thought it was just like that in korea but i guess times did have changed

LOL, I foresee the time a couple of generations of relentless material progress from now when you'll be telling your disbelieving grandchildren your sad story of having *sob* to make do with hand me down vehicles. 😛

That's a nice hand me down since I've got one myself.

But the MDX is alot heavier, 260hp, and alot more spacious. And bragging about 2-3 more miles per gallon isnt really "killing" it
My dad's been averaging 22mpg all-around in his Pilot. Seems to me that the MDX shouldn't be that far off...

Limit your RPMs when accelerating. Remy's dad probably starts a lot slower at stop lights.
Ummm... My father's getting _better_ mileage than Remy. And when did Remy's father come into this anyway?

Furthermore, from a fuel consumption point of view, the most efficient acceleration is at 3/4 throttle because it minimises pumping losses while avoiding the WOT fuel enrichment map

The OP is coming from an Integra GSR, a car that redlines at 8100RPM. I would say that it is safe to assume that he is probably giving it a little gas.
