IS this game as good as MOHAA/RTCW graphics wise? On my modded 9500NP>9800 PRO RTCW/MOH/BF1942 look gorgeus. WHat about game play? Is the comp AI as good as MOHAA?

The single-player sucks, IMHO. However, the gore is better than ever, so it's alomst worth it just for that, hehe. The multi-player has been awesome, but I think the player base is moving on to other games such as "BF1942 Desert Combat" and the latest, "Vietcong".

Edit: The graphics are decent, but not "wow" by current standards (the game is a year old now).

I enjoyed the SP, although it's really just a once through type deal (I did it in 2 or 3 days over summer break). The MP is great. I still think the graphics hold up well to current standards, especially the beefed up SP ones (glass effects are awesome...). The weapons are pretty sweet, too. Peoples' opinions vary greatly on this matter, though.

It certainly matches MoH:AA graphics wise, and I like the damage system (very precise) and skeletal system they did. If you have a shotgun you can remove just about any part of an enemy's body, they did a good job on making the graphics really gruesome.

I haven't really seen any major graphics advances in BF1942 or anything being played nowadays, I haven't tried the new Clancy game yet, though. Maybe I'm just behind the times 😉 What else has really come out in terms of realism shooters?

Single player is excellent and the graphics are awesome, probably slightly better than MOHAA's in many cases.

Hmm... I just finished the full game last night.

What will I do for the rest of the week now 😉

The gore in this game is very good indeed - I became an expert at blowing half of peoples heads off it seems 😉

I enjoyed demonstrating how to blow off complete limbs with the shotgun etc to squeamish femmes that were round at my house too 😀

By far the best gore trick is when you shoot them in the stomach with a shotgun, their 'innards' begin falling out, and they gasp and try to hold them back in, and then they die.

gruesome, i know.

but all the more fun when its digital 🙂

give it a try.
gotta be about 8ft away or so, and aim between center of stomach and crotch, right where your intestines might be...
its hard to do

Sweet mother of God! The single play game for me is way hard for me. It's like I send in "my guy" to an unkown area just to scout it out a bit until he dies a second later. Then I know where the bad guy is so I have a 10% chance of taking him down without losing so much health and armor that I can't go on.

I had to probe the entire Kamchatka level, life after life after life. I'm bogged down so bad. I feel like I'm one of the bad guys in Serious Sam and all my enemies are Serious Sam himself. Freaking frustrating. I'll have my crosshairs on some dude, and I'll practically empty the clip into him. And somehow that's not good enough. They shoot me twice and I'm screaming and falling to the ground. Over and over and over.

IMHO, they made this game too damn hard. There is ZERO chance of completing a level without dying multiple times. What fun is that? Are you guys playing on EASY or something? I'm reasonably certain I'm not as bad as this game makes me feel.

I'm pretty sure you are as bad as the game makes you feel 😛.

I bought it when it first came out and finished the single player on normal level in 3 days. Go slow and use your lean keys to look around the corners. They're less likely to see you.

Play the first one. It's not quite as good as the second but it's still definitely very good. 🙂

That one's good but I think the best is when you blow off an arm or a leg and you can see blood spurt out in time to a heartbeat.

The game is harder than a lot I've played but when you get good at aiming you'll find it much easier. Try to fire in bursts rather than holding down the trigger and duck for cover if you're out in the open. The AK74 is excellent for rapid fire, long range shots while the machine gun/grenade launcher combo is much better for close range fights.

Also turn off weapon inaccuray (which doesn't actually affect your weapons, only the crosshair stops getting bigger as you miss your target). Also patch the game to latest 1.3 gold version as they've fixed a few hit detection problems.

Okay. Cool. I'll try the suggestions. I think I have 1.3 Gold already. I'll turn off the cross hair gigantism also. I do use the leaning manuever, but maybe not consistently. It also seems that the bad guys hear me pop the spoon off of a grenade, because they inevitably come around the corner and shoot me while I'm trying to toss the grenade and get a rifle back into my hands.
