So I'm buying an electric scooter that can go 63mph

I watched a YT'er get it up to 100Kmph. Which is kind of terrifying for something you stand on, well to me anywho. And in the highest gear with full throttle from a dead stop it will do an auto wheelie, which is also terrifying that it has that much torque. So the company that makes it said that proper safety gear is required. They don't get specific, but I'm guessing a standard helmet wouldn't cut it. I rode a friends that goes like 22 and felt like I was going twice that. I can't imagine going 63 lol. I'll probably be too chickenshit to ever get it to max speed. Well that and California law says 15mph max for scooters. Pretty sure 63 would get you jailed.

My question is, who here would have the balls to go 63 on basically a higher quality Razor Scooter?

On a extremely smooth surface closed-course wearing full motorcycle protective gear sure why not?

On public roads wearing shorts and sneakers the way I see most folks riding these things I wouldn't go 15.

If it looks like a razor scooter, I consider them unsafe at any speed. Wheels are too small, and too easy for bad things to happen.

oh yeah, here's a video of him riding it, around 6:40 starts and gets it to full speed, scooters called the EMOBO DuoTork, sorry I'm too lazy to find the link right now lol.

he has a few other videos riding it. And I found a couple others on Google who love it. Probably a really poor choice to buy a $2k scooter with so little about it out there. But I have a long history of bad decision making. I don't think I'd ever want to get it even close to top speed. But maybe 35'ish would be good fun.

It's got 10" inflated knobby tires, I think inflated any ways. So a blow out at even like 35 and you're probably going to break all sorts of bones from the crash. And it like 3,600 giggawatts of powar! Or whatever terminology they use to measure the motor strength on electric scooters. To me it looks like a highly upgraded razor scooter.

Yeah, I'm not sure I want to do 60+ on a scooter like that, lol. Pretty crazy and I'm sure it's fun at a bit more safer speed :D

If you're ever in Japan, definitely do the MarioKart experience. Wife and I did it two years ago in Tokyo and it's a blast. I'm amazed they allow it, but it's a lot of fun to run around the streets of Tokyo in a go cart.

So my last MTB, 26", wreck was about 13MPH when the crank broke. Just bruises. I can do 35mph on a good day on one hill. Hell, no would I want to even slide to a stop. Much less hit something. 60? Dead.
But I have a long history of bad decision making.
Do tell...sooner rather than later.

My skateboard is governed to 670,616,628 MPH. Anyone know how to remove the restriction?

While we at e-riderrs are all about promoting the joy and convenience of electric rides, safety is our top priority. Riding an electric scooter at 63 km/h (about 39 mph) is a thrilling experience, but it can also be extremely dangerous if not done responsibly.

I forget the rest of the world isn't America, I was talking about 63mph. While 63kmh on a scooter's fast, I can do that. 101kmh would be a whole different story though. Maybe one day I'll actually get my scooter up to 100kmh just to see how it feels

That scooter's INSANITY, and I say this as the owner of a Wolf King GT Pro that goes 60mph. This is a track scooter and has poor suspension, it would be great on a track but hell on the crappy roads in the average city. While the specs are super impressive, it's also $8k which is... insanity. If they're not exaggerating the top speed, 85 would be absolutely terrifying. The highest I got mine was 47.1. I felt like I was going double that and it made my sack start to tingle. 85mph on 2 11" tires seems like a death wish.

This company was started by an ex Weped employee, and they make the fastest scooters you can buy. So even if this video looks looks fake I'm sure it's legit. I wish I knew what overlay they used to show the speed that's slick.

Had to google to get the conversion on that, holy crap that's like 100km/h lmao. Basically the speed limit on 400 series highways.

A company Emove's releasing a scooter sometime soon that they claim will go 80mph, or 128kmh. And in a really odd statistic, Emove says this:

0 to 60 mph in 10s, surpasses Boeing 747's 14s benchmark.

I've never heard anything else compared to a damn airplane. A huge airplane would the last thing I'd think of a quick 0-60 but it's what they want people to know. Assuming the 80mph's legit and not some under unobtainable perfect conditions thing, that's really crazy. I'm sure the scooter will end up being the death of some idiots, like a Hellcat on 2 wheels.

Every time someone on a bicycle passes me I look to see if it's battery powered. Seems many are nowadays around here. I am not tempted. It's a significant contributor to my fitness.

I think the fastest I got up to when I was cycling was about 35mph - and that was downhill. And it made me so nervous I never did it again. In fairness to me (for being a nervous nelly) it was a pretty busy road where I regularly see cars doing 60mph (notwithstanding the 20mph speed limit) and almost as regularly see the wreckage of cars that crashed into lampposts or garden walls.
(Speed limits don't apply to bicycles, as they only apply to 'motorised vehicles' - so probably would apply to an electric bike)
