Went to last Wed Nets game and put my name and number into a drawing for a trip to vegas/bahamas/someplace else. Monday I get a call back from them telling me I won, and to come in tuesday (today) to claim it. I'm thinking, sweet, so I go and check out their website to look at the details...

The problem/question is this...their website isnt really inspiring confidence in my 'winning' this trip, as it says everyone who qualifies can go. Anyone ever dealt with Sundance Vacations before?

Heh... you get to listen to a hard-sell timeshare presentation.

Trust me, it's NOT worth your time.

Yeah, you "won" a trip. Most likely they are a timeshare/vacation club that is going to get you out there for a few days as long as you listen to a very short sales pitch.

If you know how to say no alot and dont mind being dogged, take the trip. Could be fun

When you decide to accept your promotional trip, you will be asked to attend a brief 60 minute introduction to Sundance Vacations.

<edit> found this at NJ's BBB site:

When are you people gonna learn? Everybody wins those trips when you sign up. In the end, they are looking to sell something.

I did one of the Vacation Club dealies down in Orlando. It was because the GF wanted to go to sea world and they offered us free tickets. I figured for $100 or so worth of tickets and a breakfast, it's worth walking around a resort and telling them no. :)

At the end of the pitch when they brought in the close guy, I gave them my card and tried to sell them a roof. :D

I did the same in Orlando, well, except for the selling the roof part. The best thing was our sales person was really sick, so halfway through her presentation she asks if we are going to buy. I say "no" she says "ok" and gives us our free vouchers for Medieval Times :D

For those that have tried this before in the past, is it really tough to say 'no' as many people have said? We get many calls saying we won, blah blah blah, but cmon it's a free trip; how hard can it be?

Depends on the person and the pitch. I gotta tell ya, if I had the extra money, I might have swung that way and bought the Vacation Club thingy. Not to mention they had the GF hook line and sinker when they mentioned they would send us on another week vacation to Atlantis right after our Orlando trip if we said yes that day. I saw her eyes dart from the pamplet to me instantly and she gave me the puppy dog eyes. :D Heck, we met a young couple at Disney while we were waiting for the bus back to our hotel. Turns out they were there at the same time we were for the pitch and took it. Thank god they had a 3 day cooling off period to cancel. You could tell they got caught up in the moment.

I was still able to plead the "too far in debt" route. Yeah, we make a good amount of money, but it's true we are still digging ourselves out of College debt. Remember Kids, credit cards are bad, m'kay?
