so i went to park today....

so i'm coming upwards, the line for the parking passes is that thing on the right. the line's long so i'm at a diagonal, in the middle of the intersection. there's this bmw suv coming downwards, but he has a red light. his light turns green, and he makes a left so that our cars form a "V" shape, both trying to get in that line. i look at the driver and he shrugs. the line starts to move, and i squeeze in front of him, since i was there first anyways. one of his buddies throws something at my car. fine... so later i'm still trying to find parking in the garage, and they pull of next to me, and they go "where'd you learn how to drive?"

okay this pisses me off. first off, people like that shouldn't be driving. if you get pissed off because somebody didn't let you cut in front of them, and start to throw things at their car, you're not fit to drive in my opinion. i was willing to let this go, until they made that comment about MY driving... are they that STUPID, that they think i was somehow in the wrong?

just had to rant.
 
I had a guy say that to me once when I was driving a boat, but he was some fat bastard who was pissed off he didn't have totalitarian control of the river. There are only so many spots by the bridge, if you want to be alone the atlantic is only 10 minutes away.
 
lol, i started to try and get their license plate but i'm not very good at remembering those types of things. this wasn't so fat bastard, this was some punkass kid who thinks he's cool because he has a bmw suv and wears a bandana. :|
 
This kind of thing makes me want to invent some sort of "driver rating system" (a la user ratings here 😉 ). If you see somebody driving like an idiot, you report the license number. Granted, you'll be wrong some time, but after a while, the doofuses (doofii? 😉 ) will get a hefty number of reports. And then the public floggings begin!

I should say that I hate parking lots, so I don't do battle in them. I just park ASAP and start walking. Then I see the car I followed in still driving around, looking for that elusive "good" space. Hehehe!😀
 
A driver is not supposed to enter an intersection until their exit is clear; this includes driving straight across. So many times I have been blocked at an intersection because someone is sitting in the middle because their cue of traffic has stopped. If you dare beep them for breaking the road rules and being an inconsiderate asshole they flip you off.

You were both wrong to be sitting in the intersection because the parking entrance was not clear.

I'd be furious if someone threw something at my car.

Why didn't you say something to them about their driving?

Garfang, same here! The only time I'll try to find a close spot is if I know I'm going to be hauling out some ungodly heavy thing that will be a bastard to drag out to the end of the parking lot.

yea, i'm aware of this, but the way the street was set up, i really wasn't blocking any thru traffic, there were two lanes on the main street, two lanes in the garage, i was in the outer main street lane and turned into the garage, so the only traffic i could have blocked was any thru traffic coming from the inner lane, but there was a line one block long in that lane, of people waiting to get into the garage. anybody wanting to go straight would not have been in that lane, they would have been in the lane i was formerly in, but had moved out of.

Why didn't you say something to them about their driving?

well i did, but i didn't want to make a big deal out of it because

a.) not much point to it
b.) there were 4 of them and 1 of me.
 
If someone pisses me off on the road, I:

a) Tailgate
b) Speed up and cut them off
c) Give them the finger
d) Tailgate
 
Dont you know, since they own a bimmer or benzo or whatever that overpriced pos is SUV they can never be wrong or at fault. same applies to fugly chromed navigators
 
gopunk, didn't mean to come across as attacking you as I was not. I was just writing an example that your post made me think of. I realised you were not blocking traffic, but the X5 would have been.

I park ASAP too, usually the far end of the lot. It's no big deal to walk an extra few hundred feet and I don't want anyone opening their door into my car. :frown:

that i have... 2 14 year old girls that were helping me park (you get free parking when you have 3 people in the car). but i don't care that much, i'd only call the police if they somehow damaged my car.
