They served me something that was 'supposed' to be General Tso's Chicken (someone told me it was the most flavorful thing they had) but damn man...

I would be so depressed if I had to eat that everyday. The initial taste was revolting while the aftertaste was only mildly acceptable.

They also served us this tofu soup broth stuff and it was pretty bad too:(

Maybe it was the place, but I expected something more vibrant, more colorful, and was told that this was the best they had to offer:(

<---probably needs to try again at a better place:(

You can't just pick up and enjoy that stuff. You have to get used to it. I know I did.

Dude the thing is: Don't order the crap that is vegitarian and trying to taste like meat...order good vegitartian stuff! A sandwich with basil and mozzerala and tomatoes or go get some Indian food (best vegitarian food, imo) or a portabello burger. Stuff like that.

I agree 100%. It's jsut the guy who recommended it said he'd been there a lot so I listented to him.

I probably would've ordered a sald to play it safe.

Some of my favorite dishes have no meat (pastas, mmm), sounds like you just got a bum dish.

I pigged out on ribs & potstickers tonight though :D

Try Indian Food.. I'm an Indian vegetarian ( by religion ) and usually never have probs finding good Indian food... With other cuisines, however, I do have problems!

yeah you have to go for the signature vegetable dishes, not the dishes which vegetarians try to pass off as make-belief real food!

See, that's the thing. You DON'T HAVE TO. You do not HAVE to be a vegetarian. You CAN eat meat. In fact, our biology is designed to eat meat in addition to plants.

Tofu tastes really great if you know how to cook it. I eat a lot of tofu at home, not as a meat replacement but just because I like it. One of the weirdest things i see americans eat is raw tofu, which is really rancid in my opinion. You gotta cook that ****** then put the right sauce on it.

Tofu can be good if prepared properly. Many of your better Thai restaurants should have reasonable vegetarian options, some including tofu. Panang Tofu can be really good.

As others have said, Indian food is probably the best example of vegetarian. I eat curry with dahl (usually a tomato, mango, spinach or dosakaya) at least 5 days a week, and it's really, really good. You can mix it up by adding a chapati/roti and it's almost like a sandwich. I actually like to chop the vegetables really thin, add lentils and make almost a paste. I take that paste, add some plain yogurt and roll it in a chapati. Quite good.
