The last time I played, we had our guns cranked up to 300 feet per second (atleast, I think the unit is feet per second. I know it was 300 something-or-other). I got rushed by three guys on three sides. I was crouching by the time they were done and they wouldn't stop firing until the ref called the game (I was the last one left on my team) and disqualified the three of them for being rude assholes. They kept firing while advancing until all three of them were within five feet, still firing as fast as they could. I could barely walk. I had 17 fvcking welts from the ones that were shot up-close, and I was covered in paint. I had two shirts and a sweatshirt on plus shorts and jeans on over them. The welts were everywhere. Outside of the thighs, inside of the thighs, up and down my back and chest, even three at the base of my neck, around the collar bone. If I wasn't wearing my mask, I would be blind today.

I don't play paintball anymore because of inconsiderate, immature fvcking assholes who play around here. :|

I haven't played yet, but that's a reason I don't have any big desire to.

I prefer airsoft anyways...I can shoot all day for a few $$, and electricity is free :)

And what happens when you get hit within five feet with an AR15 or something?

he answered it just fine. um, buddy if skill has nothing to do w/ the kind of gun you own, then why don't tourney players sport tippman's. your argument is ridiculous, it's like saying the kind of car you drive has no bearing on your performance in a car race. yah, don't hold your breath waiting for someone to race in the daytona 500 driving a honda civic.

how about a more direct comparison. why don't today's marines still use long barrel, single shot rifles? i mean, if a gun has no bearing on your performance on the field, why bother wasting trillions of dollars in product research and instead invest it in training?

and don't pretend to know who i am, and what i do. i was actually conservative in my estimate. i've actually been playing paintball for 8.5 years. take two equally skilled teams. give one team tippmans and the other team high-end electros. the better equipped team will win 29 times out of 30. so stfu with your 6 years of bullsh!t experience.

I think what he meant was that the gun, in certain circumstances, means nothing.

A kid with an Angel or a Cocker, who can't aim, and has no tactics, will be easily beat by someone with a Tippmann or Spyder.

Tippmann's are good for recreation, but I wouldn't recommend them for tournament play. Seeing as I am only 17 years old, and play maybe 15 times a year, my 98C is doing fine.

Oh and FFMCobalt, I am sorry to hear about your bad experience. People like that are ridiculous. If you know you hit the person, and you see the paint, you don't need to keep firing just because the ref hasn't seen it yet. This is why I don't play at a field, but rather with friends of mine who I trust not to be jerks.

I think we need to get an ATOT paintball trip together. The best time I've ever had paintballing was the anual outting with the UIUC ACM club. Paintball vs Uncoordinated Nerds = Fun. :p

It wasn't that they didn't think the ref saw them. The ref was about 10 feet away, leaning on a tree. He was like "hey. ... HEY. HEY!!!!!" and then threw them out after that. If I heard it amidst my "woah, ow. Ow! JESUS FVCKING CHRIST IT HURTS!!!!" then they heard it.

You ever gone with the real UIUC club? I'm on their mailing list but I haven't gone to any games. I almost went with EFC but fell off my bike the day before and got all cut up. :(
