So you went out to hold up a convenience store with your 9mm, caught the cashier/owner off-guard, and managed to steal the milk AND his gun?

9/10 for effort.

That glass table makes for a very cool and disconcerting pic. :tumbsup; for inadvertant awesomeness.

they don't register them here, i also found out

kinda makes me nervous knowing about all the unregistered guns floating around here...

i can go register the serials with the police department or something though, i believe...i'll be checking into that as well

My .44 is a ruger. I shot a friends .357 smith and to be honest I shot his pistol better than I could shoot mine. haha Plus you can shoot .38 special out of the 357. Granted you can shoot .44 special out of the .44 but it's not as common. I actually took up reloading recently and I can shoot lead bullets out of my .44 for ~ $.10 a shot. Much cheaper than store bought ammo.

yeah, i picked up a couple boxes of the .38 special for target shooting, since it's cheaper :)

i didn't even know there was a .44 special

Nice! I used to have that exact same gun.

BTW-That's a model 686 not the 586. The 586 is blue steel not stainless.

I have a model 629 .44 Magnum with 8" barrel. One of my favorite guns and very accurate.

Edit-The .357 Magnum is a great gun and in that barrel length should be plenty accurate at the pistol range and fairly pleasant to shoot. I've shot .44 Magnum rounds out of a short barrel gun and the recoil is pretty brutal but it's not so bad in my 8" S&W. They both make a pretty loud boom when shooting magnum rounds though. :D

not sure about other states but in PA you can have your gun in like an hour. Fill out thje paper work and they do a background check and everything right there while you wait.

Now you have to decide what you are going to put in your mouth, the milk or the gun.

I have a 44 too, I don't have a 357 yet either, but I have shot my friend's alot better than my 44 too. With the 44 I start flinching alittle, my 454 I flinch alot, but the 357 you can hardly feel compared to them. If I was going to get a 357, I'd get the S&W 627. 8 shots, 5 inch barrel. can't get much better than that.

Don't register.

Write down the serial numbers of your guns and keep it in a very safe place in case they are stolen, but never ever register a firearm unless you are specifically required by law to do so.

Edit: oh good christ, I just realized I passed 8k posts

I know what you're thinking, punk. You're thinking, did he fire six shots or only five? Well to tell you the truth, I forgot myself in all this excitement. But being as this is a .44 Magnum, the most powerful handgun in the world and will blow your head clean off, you've got to ask yourself a question: do I feel lucky? Well do ya, punk?

Hmm, I've never seen one with a bright finish like that. They are carbon steel and all the model 586 handguns I've seen have been black.

Text The 686 is stainless steel and the 586 is carbon steel. Again, I've only seen them in black so naturally I thought you had a 686 since yours has a bright finish on it. I polished both my .44 Magnum and .357 Magnum to a bright finish.
