Heh.. I just bought the dvd last week 🙂

Screw Denise Richards, I'll take Dina Meier (Dizzy)...

And yes, the movie is a hoot. Anyone notice the "Hitler Youth" theme pervading the movie?

there is tons of Nazi type themes throughout the movie, such as the whole concept of citizenship, along with the intelligence officers uniforms and how they seem to hold more power than usual.

How is the concept of citizenship a "Nazi type theme?"

Indeed... 🙁

That movie took his idea for a perfect democracy and turned it into the the "Hitler Youth"... :frown:

Anyway, the book is entirely different than the movie... and MUCH better. I can't begin to count all the sci-fi themes that have been ripped from that little book.

Speaking of which, has anyone watched the CGI animated-series? They've been releasing it on DVD, and let me tell you, it's good stuff; supposedly far closer to the book too.🙂

that movie is about the nazification of early-20th century germany.
Are you serious? That has NOTHING to do with what the book is about! 🙁

The movie was bad, but in a very good way. I liked it. The book was excellent though. I'm glad I read the book after I watched the movie. Reading and then watching would have ruined the movie for me, but instead I can enjoy both.

I rule. 😀

...and I realized that aside from piss-poor acting and the lame romance, that hey, the film ain't that bad. Pretty decent CGI effects. Found out they are making a sequel to come out in 2004...wonder if they read the book this time?

Whoa...sequel in 04? Any links?

"I'm from Buenos Aires and I say KILL THEM ALL!"

Starship Troopers 2

I guess Casper Van Deen is too busy to star in the sequel.
