This is more or less what I've always wanted to do with my satellite speakers (instead of leaving them rotting in the cardboard box with the subwoofer).

yeah it's real easy........took me all of 30 minutes and that's only because the right one was a weird angle to screw the thing in. I think the slides I got were 24" which were teh longest ones Lowe's had.
 
Nicely done, got me thinking how to do something similar, but....well, L-shaped desk. Not so easy. Hmmm.....
