LOL... soooo not true. But either way, the original poster was doing the "Look guys, I found rice on Ebay!"
#1 I don't see any professional racecar drivers driving riced out civics at Lemans or NHRA or any other racing class. #2 I never said anything about rice in the original post. You need to do one of the following: A: get a clue B: commit Seppuku with a frisbee C: STFU Pick one.

Civics are used extensivly in SCCA and Pro Street Drag racing events. And LeMans has its own class of cars which the Civic is not part of.

You need to do one of the following :

A) Say sorry
B) Go buy a Civic
C) Get a clue

Ignorance prevails in this thread...

What is a "real" race car?

SCCA is a joke. Pro Street Drag? Last I heard that trend died a decade ago and I never heard of the Pro Street Drag series. Is this worldwide or just in AssBend Montana?

Now lets see if you can list a real race class where ricers and civics are found.

Stop posting

This debate is stupid and pointless.

A "race" car is any car used in races, it does not matter what make or model it is.

Super Stock Cuda currently makes over 900hp using nearly stock equippment and runs low 8's and soon to be in the high 7's.

Stock Class Cuda makes 400-500 hp with stock equippment. Lets see a civic do that.

I think the point that is being missed is that civics aren't performance cars and should be used as reliable and enjoyable transportation and not all tarted up to look like racecars.

I agree, except for the spoiler... that'd have to go.

Well CRx's civic's and stuff are used in the NASA (not the space agency) sanctioned Honda Challenge. I've also seen Civic's in teh BTCC (not the top class, but the second class I forgot the name). You can race a Civic in World Challenge Touring Class but not turbo.

This would make a good track car, it's light, will have power..needs an LSD, can be built to have a decent suspension. It's not a Le Mans winner nor is it intended to be. It IS a racecar for the weekend racer.

Ps. I can't imgaine a crx going down the Mulsanne straight...hahah

Where does one get a '97 Max for $2000? Does it run?!?!?

Stephen Papadakis' AEM Drag Civic runs exactly 8.0 seconds @ 180mph.

Now remove the nitrous and the blower and get the weight up to the 3000# mark and lets see what it does.
