so I was pulled over yesterday...

the campus cops pulled me over, and guess what his reason is? He said I was doing 27/29, and the speed limit was 25... friggin unbeliaveable.. there were even speed bumps where I slow down a lot (since my car is quite low)

so he took my driver license, registration and insurance and brought them to his car. but he didnt give me a ticket (I dont think he wrote we up, but not sure) Is it possible that he mails me a ticket or something?

You're more than likely fine. His supervisor was probably nearby and he wanted to make it look like he was working.

More than likely not.

You're info is likely in a db somewhere & if you get pulled over in the next month or so, you'll likely get a ticket instead of a warning....

this is the campus police, not regular police

that or its the end of the month quota syndrome

(but he is only a campus cop, not even a regular cop)

yeah i would say you're fine. even if he's a campus cop he can give you tickets (and they probably still have quotas, who knows). anyway, i wouldn't sweat it too much, but next time you'll probably get a ticket.

Campus cops have tried this around here and tickets have been dropped because the universtiy DPS department has no officers certified by the state on how to use the radar gun. It later turned out they were not permitted to write tickets for traffic violations other than parking or leaving a running vehicle unattended.

I would not worry about it.

what pisses me most is that he actually pulled me over for speeding

for gods sake, it was downhill, I wasnt even accelerating. 9 out of 10 people go over the speed limit coz its IMPOSSIBLE (unless u really try) to stay below the limit

IMHO, getting pulled over for anything less that 7mph over is hella lame (unless its adverse weather conditions or something)

your fine, he let you off, but there is always a chance he could mail you something, but that chance is slim.

is that even legal? arent cops required to notify you that you are being ticketed or something?

if a cop didn't give you a ticket then you are off the hook. They can't mail you a ticket after the fact as you have to sign for it when you are giving a ticket. As other said most likely he entered your info in to computer and will pop up next time you get puled over. When you say campus cop, was actually campus cop or was like sherif department that has agreement with the univercity campus to provide service?

I work for a campus police department - at least here we're a full fledged police department, if they give you a warning or a ticket it goes on your record just as if it was the city, county or state giving you it. You got a warning, just don't get pulled over again anytime soon 🙂

so this record, is it only the campus record or the whole state record?
