Lowe's is like a Home Depot incase you aren't familiar... and as soon as I walked in I heard "Silver Bells" playing.

Looked to my left and there it is, two big aisles of Christmas items being put out.

now, I am a Christmas nut. i'll go as far as putting a mini-tree in the passenger seat of my car and riding it around with me, but it's only September 25th. And it was 85 degrees here today..

Same thing is happening at Home Depot. Couple more weeks and it's Christmas music again!

But it's the most wonderful time of the year!

I agree. Halloween, at the very least. Late September? Ridiculous...

Costco has already cleared out the back sections of their warehouses and set up their Christmas sections. I guess some people just like to get the shopping out of the way early on. Once you get close to Halloween, I'd imagine most parents will have to take their kids out to get costumes, buy candy, etc. School projects will be coming in so families will be preoccupied with those. Then you've got Thanksgiving to prepare for and once Thanksgiving comes around, you have the massive shopping rush. Doesn't really seem like such a bad idea to get it done early.
