The time is about 11ish am. My wife's driving with me to Golden Mountain Shopping center. I wanted to pick up some baked pineapple buns from Maria's Bakery.

I noticed that the side of the road was filled with Latino men. In front of the bank, gas station, and the Safeway grocery store.

What the heck is going on, was it some sort of hispanic holiday?

At anyrate, I purchased all the pineapple buns off the shelf (all 20, freshly made, so they told me)

If you don't go there often then you wouldn't know. They are all looking for work. People who want cheap labor usually go to pick them up for a day to do all sorts things like moving stuff etc.

they look like Fez from that 70's show. ha ha... i didn't really look at their face to be honest.

seriously, it was very unusual. I expect a bunch of Asians since the Korean shopping center was there too, but there were like 7-8 Latino guys by the road, every block for 7-8 blocks.

Seems like that's a terrible place to look for work.

Fez is cute.... well not so much as Fez, but in real life.

*visions of hot latino men dancing in my head*

No, it wasn't a holiday.

I live in Northern Va, and I used to live near this place that had a shitload of them near this take out restaurant. Like 50 of them sitting there all day looking for work or something, and even playing soccer.

It is risky because they want your money, but in the end people LOVE cheap labor.

Did you hire a dozen and put them on the back of your pickup truck?

They are probably illegals looking for work. People come and pick them up at places like that to do big jobs like build decks and stuff like that.

They're day laborers... I made the mistake of taking my car to a gas station to get it changed off of 236. While waiting for my car to get serviced, I noticed a huge crowd of latinos just sorta tooling around, so I half wandered in their direction. They literally charged at me... like hundreds of them.... asking me... "do you need work done".... I frantically told them no, but it took me like 15 minutes to disperse the crowd.
