I was browsing EBAY for Peachtree Accounting Software and came across some of the software selling for $.01. Just curious, I clicked on it and you can buy it now for $.01. It retails for $190. I scroll down, and shipping is $183!!!! Do alot of EBAY sellers do this?

Why do you hate them? Because you're too stupid to check shipping fees first?

Sorry, but people who screw themselves by not reading the fine print have no one to blame but themselves.

because they are purposely trying to trick the purchaser.

Yes, and it's against ebay's policy since it's obvious that they're doing it to 1) trap buyers 2) avoid ebay fees. I've even seen it printed it auctions before: "The shipping and buy it now prices have been swapped to save on eBay fees"

No, they are trying to work around Ebay's fees.

They give FULL disclosure right there on the page. I see no trick in that.

I'm a moron because you can't understand that the guy is trying to work around Ebay's fees?

I'm a moron because someone giving full disclosure on his auction pisses you off?

What part of "buyer beware" did mommy and daddy fail to teach you?

WTF is so "wrong" about it? If you're stupid enough to buy the auction thinking it's really 1 cent, I have no sympathy. :p

It's just a way to reduce eBay fees. IIRC, it's against their TOS.. but it still goes on.

Just buyer beware.

I dont think one person here said he/she would bid on it. We all recognize whats wrong with the auction.
How do replies get posted completely off the topic when you can scroll up and follow the thread, post for post all the way to the bottom.

I obviously recognized the "twist" of this auction when I posted it on ATOT. Who was fooled?

Then why all the righteous indignation by you and others in this thread???

If Ebay wanted to stop it, they would. This is a problem between the seller and ebay.

Others here are acting as if the seller is trying to scam buyers.

Please do. Maybe then you'll find that discussions don't always go exactly as YOU wish them to.

Maybe the shipping really costs $183.00!!!! :p

Anyway, I see nothing wrong with that. According to Peachtree's website: Peachtree Accounting 2004 $199.95 + $19.90 Shipping. The way I see it, you're saving money regardless. Does it really cost Peachtree $20 to ship? If anything, you should complain about that, and not someone looking to work around eBay fees.

Edit: according to his eBay ad, it's for the COMPLETE Accounting 2004. Peachtree Complete Accounting 2004 $299.95 $19.90 Shipping. Looks like you're getting a great deal from this guy on eBay, even with the shipping charge.
