So I try to play AVI files and...

In Windows Media Player: "No combination of filters could be found to render the stream."

In Sasami: "Renderer Failed."

Yet, for some reason, an avi file I already had on my computer (which incidentally, has no sound) plays fine in both media players. The avi's I'm trying to download now have sound.

ANy suggestions?

People are starting to get pretty good at this whole neffing thing. Hmm, the AVI thing still confuses me, i always thought that AVI was out before divx, why's Media Player unable to play it?

Yet another n00b who thinks DivX is the only .avi codec out there.

Scott:

You downloaded some kind of divx movie, correct? You need DivXFix. The file isn't complete and DivX Fix will "seal" off the end of the file and let you watch what you have. :)

Well, couple of questions, LordMaul:

First off, it's just an .avi file I got off WinMx, I don't know if that specifically makes it DivX or what...
Second, if it "seals" off the end, can I unseal it later, so I can continue downloading?

edit: also, I couldn't find nimo on google or download.com, and the link that someone here gave requires a password/username, which I don't have.

Well, I downloaded and installed Nimo, still no luck. There were, however, numerous errors during installation, I had no choice but to ignore some of the files being installed.

Probably not.

It's just something to use when youg get movies...er...'legal copies of home videos' and want to watch them if a download stops and/or just down't work.

If you want to continue downloading, why don't you?
