Since there's been more than one thread on how good this method of cooking steak was, I figured I'd give it a try. After all, I haven't bought a new propane tank for my grill since moving.

Mind you, it wasn't bad, but I'm not sure why all of you rave about it being the "only way" to cook steak. It just didn't have the flavor that a properly grilled cut has. Maybe it's all the carcinogens from the grill that just taste better, who knows.

Anyway, the leftovers tasted better than the fresh from cooking portions did. Good in a pinch, but I'll be getting more propane as soon as possible.

Theres only one proper way to cook meat, and it involves direct exposure to fire. Period.

The question then remains what came first? The steak, or the fire?

That guy is far and away my favorite cook show to watch because he gives logical explanations as to why things work the way they do. I dont want to only know what to add, I also like to know what it does.

You have to keep one simple fact in mind: It's the best method when fire isn't available, but it's by no means the best method.
