I do like blue label but I have to admit I agree with this guy.

From wikipedia

Judging Director of the San Francisco World Spirits Competition and revered whisky reviewer, F. Paul Pacult, describes Blue Label as such: "Next to JWBlue, the Gold really shines, exposing the JWBlue for what it really is: just a very nice, ridiculously overpriced whisky".

What do you know, could it be an engineer and PM have more things in common?

Yeah, Glenlivet is a nice bread and butter scotch for me. It's not bad in any means. To me, it has this.. distinct grapey aftertaste around my lips.

Balvenie is such a nice full-bodied treat. I remember I bought it because it was cheap ($33~), but it's gone up in price (same double wood 12yo at $45~). IMO, it tastes so much better than other full-bodied counterpart like Macallan.

Where can I buy a bottle of Blue label for $125?

The liquor store here charges $180-$200 for that.

Yeah, it's about 190 here.

I think Blue stands out as better than Gold, it's noticeable; however, I'm not sure it's worth the price when you could likely get a better single malt (for those who enjoy) for the same price or less. So is Blue the best bang for the buck? Nah, but it's still pretty damned good for what it is.

tonight I'm sipping on Highland Park 12 neat (it was on sale!) but I'm definitely going to try the Doublewood next. For whats it's worth, I also like Famous Grouse on the rocks, its pretty good for $20.
